So what would be the most practical way for me to get some Chinese film while over there briefly? Which particular film do you recommend?? Thanks for the help.

I just remembered my Horizn 202 panorama camera. Wouldn't it be a great camera for street photography and for places such as the Great Wall of China! If I take along the Horizonn I would then need to leave behind either the Canon P or Bessa T. This is a tough choice but I may go that route to be able to get more variety.

I once brought my Noblex on a trip to Mongolia. As much fun that camera is, it does not make a good travel camera. It's very limited in its use, it's heavyish and cumbersome, and it for panoramas you could just as well take a regular 35mm camera and shoot a series of 4-5 images in a row.

RML: I have to agree with your assessment, and I will not take along the Horizon. It is delicate and can break, and it is heavy. I may use it instead locally.

How do you scan your slides/negatives taken by your Noblex? Do you use a medium format flatbed scanner with an adapter?

I used to scan them with an HP S20 neg scanner, which didn't have any seperations in the neg holder. My Minolta SD3 is incapable of scanning such negs unless I cut out the seperations (which I'm not going to do). Right now I have no idea how to scan them. Maybe I should look around for a second neg holder and transform that one.

I bought an inexpensive EPSON 3170 PHOTO flatbed scanner after someone in the nelsonfoto.com community strongly recommended to me this $80 (shipped) scanner. I still have not used it, but was told that scans come out very nice.

I will as soon as I find the time to use the scanner. Hopefully, it was not wasted $80 for me, but I believe the person advising me meant well and he used the same set-up with sucess with a panorama camera.
