V500 Scanner - Price to low to be true?

That is too cheap - much cheaper than demo and refurbished units. The seller does not seem to be a fraud (though at 4% negative feedback they can't be entirely nice to deal with), outrageously low-priced or selling used stuff, so it probably is a typing error where they omitted the leading one which would have made it only marginally cheaper than the competition. If so, they'll decline the sale.

As have I. The seller cannot demand that you pay an extra £100 on top of the price they have advertised to sell at. Customer rights and all that...
 
..and now I see it's changed - I wish I'd ordered one. Too cautious by far!!

Wahoo - is that scan using the Epson 35mm film holders?

Glad I got there in time. I expect the influx of sales was probably brought about from here. I just hope they still agree to sell it to me at that price...

No, that scan with the V500 was using the Epson 4990 35mm holders, probably just as cheap and nasty as the 500 ones although I've never had mine out of the box, so I'm not quite sure.

. . . and the bad news is - although my order was confirmed this morning by Amazon it has been cancelled about 1 hour ago by Base .:(
 
For us latecomers. What was the too good to be true price? As its advertised its what I´d say is normal.

The too good to be true price was drum roll - drum roll - £45.43 inclusive if shipping.

A little more shipping to Norway .:D
 
Ok. Even if I´ve got one I´d consider getting another for that price. But add freight, local VAT, VAT handling fee, and before you know it, its more expensive than one bought locally.

Same here, I think some ham-fisted pillock at the office made a hash of that. Not sure what the policies are like on Amazon, but surely if a seller puts that price up, they have to sell it to us at that price. Trade Descriptions Act and all that...
 
Sorry, I may have misunderstood. I paid around £100.00 delivered UK mainland a couple of months ago from Amazon UK.
