Apologies as there's no mention of the Leica M8 here, just good film news from Fuji:

Now, what's happened to the promised Provia 400x...?

Yap excellent, film still owns my heart

Waiting on Maitani
That's a triumph for Velvia-lovers; I like the way Fuji responded to those concerns.
Now, Kodak .... K25!!!!!

Fuji certainly has a keener sense of public relations than a certain "yellow box" company on this side of the Pacific. It's nice to know there are still outifts that will respond to popular demand instead of just shutting down the assembly line. Let's just hope that substitute ingredient doesn't upset the apple cart.

I think it's already available in Japan. You can order it but it's pretty pricey: http://www.unicircuits.com/shop/

Naw, this can't be right. Film will be dead in about 3-5 years, at least according to many of the bozos over on photo.net. Oh, wait, they said that about 3-4 years ago. Correction: film will be dead any minute. This must be a mistake. Is it an article from The Onion?

So, what are the "substitute raw materials" they're going to be using? Are they no longer able to source eye of newt, unicorn horn etc.? Kidding aside, it does make me wonder.
I've never used Velvia, whether 50 or 100. Is the 50 definitely still preferable to the 100? (If the formula is now going to be slightly different, it will be interesting to see how it compares to the old.)

I would say the RVP 50 use is for slower shutter speeds. The RVP 100 is great stuff and just as fine grained really. Maybe the 50 will have the same saturation as before. Amazing stuff. Congrats Fuji! Now I have to shoot up what i have left and try the new.
