Not just you. They are, at least for the fascist symbol. Perhaps the artist couldn't bear to put an actual Nazi sign on the plane.

Interesting observation guys. Missed that. Before the symbol became associated with Nazis, for millenia it was used in a good context. To this day its used commonly in religious rites in Hinduism, Buddhism and related religions. In the religious context, the symbol is used in both directions, perhaps by different sects.
