An outstanding series biomed, I love the colors in your pictures, looks just like the 4x5 kodachrome pictures taken during ww2 thats been postet here/internet earlier, just beautiful!

That's exactly it. I was thinking the colour reminded me of something.

Not just you. They are, at least for the fascist symbol. Perhaps the artist couldn't bear to put an actual Nazi sign on the plane.
 
Interesting observation guys. Missed that. Before the symbol became associated with Nazis, for millenia it was used in a good context. To this day its used commonly in religious rites in Hinduism, Buddhism and related religions. In the religious context, the symbol is used in both directions, perhaps by different sects.
