Real airplanes have propellers--and two wings. You can see the DNA that led to the later Grumman 'cats fighters. Beautiful shot!

Lovely, now all we need is a Bearcat—talking piston engines only, please!
(Confession, I did look at the stirringly beautiful photos on your website. It's a tribute to the men who flew those WWII aircraft in combat that some of those planes are still flying. Your photos help keep those memories alive.)

Piston Engines Only?
Piston Engines Only?
In a way I can see your point, I have never considered any Japanese motorcycle a vintage or 'classic', but a car 20 years old is a classic to some.
It's odd that I don't remember seeing any gliders or balloons here except my balloon post. Balloons are truly vintage methinks.

Hi,
Gliders? Try page 14 and my post (No 531) for a photo and post 535 for a link to a video of it in action.

Thanks for the "Cats" series. I didn't know the Tigercat preceded the Bearcat. Good to know.

ASA... Provia became my last resort film before switching to digital, very natural colors. I love the "classic" depth of field look in the clouds, reminiscent of period 12 ASA film.
