It's good to see a significant fraction of these pictures with the plane in the air, or rolling with the tail wheel up, ready to go or landing fast. Here's a T-6 which I've flown with its owner, one of several partners who fly it a lot. It lives at LVK, goes to OSH sometimes.
There's a lot of flying in vintage planes at LVK (Livermore, CA). For a recent flight, we needed some (a lot of) very unusual grade of oil before we could take off. Didn't have any in the store room, but moments later another shiny T-6 taxied by. We followed it to its hanger and were able to borrow a gallon or so of what we needed. Here's another, quite a bit bigger, the T-6's replacement, a T-28. (The T-6 had 550 HP, the T-28 1450).
Both pictures with Olympus M-1 and "vintage" 4/3 11-22 lens.

A few from Lone Star Flight Museum on Galveston Island. Chamonix field camera, Kodak Tmax 100, Rodinal 1+50. The first is a Beech staggerwing, in spite of what's on the Flickr page.

"Kenny" that Beech Staggerwing looks as though it was fast in it's time , any idea what kind of speeds it could get up to ? Peter

According to some casual looking, with the 450hp Pratt & Whitney R-985-AN-1 Wasp Junior, the Beech 17 had a range of 500 miles and speed(max) was 198mph. Fast for the early 1930's, I reckon.

JU 52 before take off. Before my flight as a 60s birthday gift, the morning sun pronounced the ondulated alumnium.

When there is nice weather, the JU52 is flying above my home near Dusseldorf. The sound of the 3 engines (BMW) is very special.
