I've seen them going for
$275-350. Current new price is $399.00 sadly I paid the full new price of $499.00. I traded mine away for credit toward a 50 'lux. I'm happy with the decision.

The Skopar is indeed a beautiful lens. I love the built quality and the rendering. I love its high contrast (as some may not). It's simply beautiful on my IIf with the additionnal square shade.
Here are a few samples with XP2 film at 1600 using an orange filter on.

Thanks for posting some photos, Julien; several shots other attribute to this lens seem a little soft.
Does the rendition change significantly as the lens is stopped down, or are we just seeing (in some other work) problems with focus and camera movement.
One of the things I enjoy about RFs as opposed to SLRs is that the finder is always bright and a relatively slow lens is easy to focus.

as for me, the beauty of such lenses is ability to use them on widest settings.
Do you have pics with Bokeh and wide open?
I'm choosing between 50/2 and 50/1.5, but I think Nokton should have more smooth bokeh

Well, I don't have the Nokton, but from what I saw here and on Flickr, the bokeh is not that smooth.
I second your comment re. Jupiter 3 though!
Best regards,
Uwe

I really like Jupiter 3 bokeh. But AFAIK from Russian owners, it does not focus properly on Bessas

I've let go of the 50 mm Heliar in partial trade for
pre-asph 50 'lux (which I truly love by the way). I was a little critical of the lens, but it is nice and I found the focusing to very quick. More so than the 'lux or 50mm Hex which I also own. I do miss that feature and small/coolness factor. Here are shots I took in very low light. wide open, 1 1/15....push processed to ASA 1600. Sometimes, I wish I would've kept it. But the 'lux and Hex win out for me.

Shhhhh ... don't talk about the M-Hexanon 50/2. Prices are already up.
Nokton 1.5. I just dont think it can be beat
The 1.5 will open up a lot of opportunity as well!

Seems like everyone says that the bokeh from Heliar is good.. well, as far as I saw from picture posted by other people (I don't have it) it seems to produce a "swirly" bokeh.. Do you really like it?
Rob.
