Earlier today; at SF Pride Parade, new M-Nokton 50/1.5 on M3, Rollei Retro 100, Rodinal 1:50.

Just basic leveling and dust removal in post.

Share your first shots with the new Nokton !

Beautiful shots Roland, looks like Rollei and Nokton makes a great couple.
I got the older version of this Nokton, GAS is sneaking in when looking at your shots...

Nice shots Roland.....
Looks like Bangkok... 🙂
I miss the SF Pride Parade....good times, good times....

cheers, michael

BTW, I got to use Kristian's (Leicashot) Nokton last week.....sweet lens, I want one 🙂

Thanks, all.

Erik, if I remember correctly f2.8 for the shot up the building, and f1.5 and f2 for the other portraits. Shot with a yellow filter at 1/250 and kept the aperture between f1.5 and f5.6 for the entire shoot (this is between 8 and 10am).

Here is the typical f5.6 portrait in direct sun light:

Thanks, Steve.

It looks a bit quirky, but is very well built, and very smooth in usage. In use, my chrome copy reminds me of the DR Summicron. Some intrusion of the hood in the frame-lines, but then it seems quite flare proof (so you can skip the hood in many cases).

Very well corrected lens. When I looked at a test roll last week, I was suprised at the corner resolution when used at infinity and wide open.

I had the LTM version some years ago but sold it b/c it was just too large as an everyday 50. The M version appears to be a little smaller in size. As a fast, modern 50, this could give Zeiss and Leica a run for their money.

I wonder if that Lincoln is the same one Willie Brown was riding in in 2001 when I was there for the parade. Willie was three sheets to the wind that day, and when he got to the reviewing stand to make his commemorative remarks, he slurred out "Welcome to Gray Plide!"

Any noticeable barrel distortion, as reported by Huff?

Just a bit, Furcafe, check the photos of the Shelby engine and the building back-drop (no distortion correction on my scans).

Very manageable, less noticeable than - for example - distortion of my v2 Summilux.

Roland.

Thanks.

Agreed re: pre-ASPH 'lux.
