Oof! Bad Kitty!

It would be hard to find anyone who loves kitties more than I, but I'm under no illusions about what bloodthirsty killers our widdle fur babies can be. Despite the smirking amusement of my neighbors, our kitty only goes out on a leash, partly for her own protection (coyotes, rattlesnakes, hawks, badgers, etc.), but also to protect wildlife. Even on a leash, she's been quick enough to nab a few lizards, who've been fortunate enough to merely part company with their tails.
There's a reason why James Bond villains always have a cat...

Well said, Retro-Grouch. Ours have been kept indoors all their lives. None would even know what a flea is. They happily co-exist (for the most part), and apart from an occasional hissing-howling spat between two males who are no longer able to perform and should know better but somehow don't (note please, I'm talking about cats here), all is peace and quiet and serenity at home.

As for James Bond villains and their love of cats, I personally have always thought they were gentlemen (and one lady, the great German actress Lotte Lenya) of supremely good taste...

My Joey is mostly an indoor cat. He goes outside into a fenced back yard, late at night, provided he doesn't hear any human activity in the surrounding yards. He has shown an amazing lack of hunting acumen. During the day, he watches birds and squirrels through the window with great enthusiasm, but he never asks to go out. I guess he's just a window-shopper.

Anyway, Joey is no threat to local wildlife. (He's a good kitty!)
