Our precious Nina. Since we became "empty-nesters" my wife and I showered affection on this kitty

It's been 4 days since we had to say goodbye to our Nina-kat. Still feel awful. 🙁
Lovely shot. Thinking of you and your wife. It’s hard losing a beloved animal companion and family member. I hope another cat chooses you when you’re ready.

My deepest condolensces. I lost my animal companion of 17 years a couple of years ago and still miss him deeply.

It's a beautiful picture of an important family member.

I have a grove of trees nearby I mentally named in his honor and I take a photo there annually on the anniversary of having had to put him down. Perhaps something like that would help.

Understand and offer much sympathy. One of ours is starting to fade out, at age 13. A big beautiful black-and-white Persian who has been with us since 2013, rescued from a cage in a market in Surabaya where he had lived for almost one year. It seems Persians have a more short life-span than the domestic felines, sad as he has been entirely an indoor cat and the vet his best friend/mortal enemy all along. still active, not eating as well, a bit more slow. Lives on my bed.

His baby bro a shorthair domestic with a kinky tail, rescued from the street in 2014 as a small, scrawny, wormy, dirty and starved kitten barely able to eat solid food, is as energetic and active and affectionate as he was 11 years ago. Races up and down stairs, eats like a small water buffalo, is always playful and friendly if given to biting (fortunately not hard) when annoyed. The kampung cats live either sadly short lives on the streets or go on forever. Our friends have two who are almost 20 and still active. So there is hope for ours.

The other three house pusses are aged 5 and 7 and full of p*ss and ginger and certainly mischief. So the household is active and busy if awash in cat fur...

We hope you will soon find another replacement for your beautiful Nina. A house is really not a home without at least one cat, and as we've found, when there is one cat (especially a kitten) often as not there will be two.
