Indeed! I usually just get a glowing white disk if I try to shoot a picture of the moon.

To get details, I'll treat the Full Moon as any object in full sunlight. At ISO 100, I'll use a shutter speed of 1/500 at f/5.6 (which is like 1/125 at f/11). Maybe use even a faster speed.
Most of my Moon shots are with an old pre-AI 300mm f/4.5 Nikkor, but I have prints only and can't post them here.
But anyone can achieve a nicely exposed detailed photo of the Moon with a good camera and lens.

Absolutely remarkable shot! The only way to get a sot like this is "f/8 and be there." (Actually, probably more like f/2 and be there, in this case.) Love it!
