Nifty machinery, wonderful preservation! This motor is interesting in part because it appears to be a side-valve exhaust combined with overhead valve intake!

Doug, I'd quite like to hear it running at some point. I think I'd like the sound it makes.

Thank you, Charles, it's nice of you to say so. I had no idea that these motorcycle police were going to be assembling for this event, I just stumbled onto it.

This is another thing I didn't expect to see especially in Yokohama, Japan. I'm guessing that he and his friends are in Japan for the Rugby World cup.

Hi Peter,
I'm always interested in seeing a classic Triumph myself—but as I was quite restricted in my photo opportunities by the many visitors to the hall admiring the bikes, I didn't get any of the ones on stage on the day, sorry. The machine at centre stage (a Ducati 200cc Elite) did make an appearance in posts 961 and 963 of this thread though.

Wow, John your's is a classical, the type I also could fall for from.. the late 1970s? My brother, in the meantime, got the latest, again bigger one, as much as I know..

These small bikes around Asia are real workhorses, but of course not only that but first of all the vehicle for personal transport, also as motorcycle taxi or Xe Om as called here in Vietnam

note it has been a few years since these had been taken, nowadays there aren't less bikes around but more cars

My BMW is a 1970 model Andreas, the first of the /5 series, and conveniently the first BMW with an electric start. The seat is comfortable, but I couldn’t sleep on it like the guy above. That’s something I’ve not seen before. He must do yoga I think.
