Weekend Photography Plans: What are you up to?

Raid: Been waiting for you to ask. :)

I'm spending the better part of Saturday in Poughkeepsie, NY, for an event at Galfriend's older son's Amla Mater, Vassar, for a special event. (He was graduated from Vassar last year.) Bringing my Core System: the entire Hexar kit, plus Contax Tvs. Shooting mostly Portra 160NC, plus one roll of 400NC and a few leftover rolls of Gold 200. (Hey...there might even be a stray roll of Reala somewhere...)

Weather is supposed to be spectacular. Gotta head to bed soon: catching an early train.

I'm going to take some photos of the 1st of May parade. The parade is still very much politically loaded here so I was thinking why not shoot with my Zorki-1 and my -56 model Jupiter-8. Maybe someone from the old guard recognises my rig!

I thought about doing the same (with Zorki 4) but was sidelined by a 100 km bike tour. :D Don't forget, if you get any good ones then the FSU contest starts here today and goes until May 30th.

I love this thread

this weekend I've developed 4 rolls, watched the Blackhawks demolish San Jose, hosted a BBQ, got a new bike and rode it (after 10 years of an uncomfortable one). Next up, going for a run, then off to a little league game to exercise the evil DSLR. Then out to another BBQ , will shoot some film. Then, the finale of "Lost" and some negative scanning, am I overscheduled or what?

I can do some boasting here!
I have seen the Pyramids, followed by Old Cairo and Coptic Cairo last weekend.
I have taken 5-6 rolls of film. The Bessa R worked flawlessly.

I would like to keep this thread alive. I forgot about it.
This weekend I will take some photos locally of whatever I can find that I find worthwhile taking photos of. The M6 with 75mm seem a good choice. I also have a small Vivitar P&S with a 21mm lens or so.

Tell me what you have been doing and you may be planning for photographically.

Enjoy the weekend.

It`s a good thread Raid.
A group of us have just got back from a street theatre event in Manchester where we were asked to be the official photogs (oh dear).
Tomorrow I may go to a local agricultural show depending on the weather.
Thanks goes to Bob France for organising todays outing though.

If anything there's a somewhat local old abandoned house that's boarded up...I saw it the other day around 6:00 am...the light was great at that time...I might go back sometime this week and shoot it...think I'll use the Yashicamat 124...loaded with Neopan 400 of course...

Going to pack-up the Bronica and half a dozen rolls each of Arista EDU-100 and Tri-X and head down towards Richmond to visit the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden.

Hello Michael,
You seem to have a couple of good events there.

Hi Sam,
Go for it. I can envision suvh an abandoned house. Many years ago, I used a Lubitel MF camera to take photos of an abandoned cottage in Virginia. I did what I could do, but the end result was not what I was hoping to capture.

Hi Mike,
Botanical gardens can have good scenes for great photography. I once captured a spiderweb that had Azaleas in the background. I focused on the spider web,and I let the Azaleas be the pink-red OOF background.

Headed to Bend, Oregon for an annual healthclub conference. I was asked to wear the official photographer's hat this year. I did it 2 years ago as well. I spent the better part of a day tinkering and trying to make a custom flash bracket to use my Canon G7, Pocket Wizard, and Nikon sb600 flash. I finally came up with a creation I like, but realized I would have to carry it in my hand all day. That is kinda hard when you are visiting vendors and going through buffet lines.
Then I realized I owned a Nikon d3 that had a shoulder strap and didn't need a flash! I am taking the d3 and a 28-70. I will take the other contraption as back-up.

I met up with RFF member Robin over some coffee this morning.
I also took a few shots with the 75mm Lux.

It's not the weekend but it is summer vacation time and my family and I are going to a friend's cottage for a few days. It's where my avatar shot was taken. This is a driving there and then sitting around on the dock kind of trip so I'm taking more gear than I would it it where a walking around kind of trip. I'm taking new to me Nikkor 20mm lens and Nikkor S 50f1.2 lens on a couple of Nikon bodies that happened to have film in them: an FG and an F3. Also in the bag is a Hexar AF with that wonderful 35mm lens permanently attached. My avatar pic was taken with this camera. Also in the bag is a Konica C35EF3 with built in flash for colour neg snaps.

Hi Frank,

Enjoy your family trip. It sounds like lots of fun.

I may need a Hexar AF for my Cairo trip.
The camera is fool proof and silent. It has a sharp lens.

Not much planned for the next weekend, though I need to finish the rolls currently in my cameras.
I'll probably take my bicycle and ride around until I find something interesting to shoot.

Ended up shoot the last half a roll of Edu-400 along with two rolls of EDU-100 and roll of Tri-X or about 40 frames during my two hour visit to gardens. Generally try to work as close in my Bronica would let me but also ended shooting a number of frames of candid people shots.

This coming weekend I'm head-up to PA for a workshop on digital wet transfer printing on Sat and Sun is up in the air.

worldwidephotowalk.com - signed up for the photo walk this weekend in Alexandria - haven't done one like this in years. A film user being present should be unusual, I'm guessing. I'll be shooting XP2, on top of it all!

"B&W!?! - How do you do that??!!"
