Carlos Santana & John McLaughlin with the Mahavishnu Orchestra, "Love, Devotion and Surrender". Soaring guitars, anyone?
 
Clapton 'EC was Here' vinyl, Marantz 2325, Klipsch RB 51 ii
(their bookshelves now terrific sound for size/cost)

I can't believe he passed away this p[ast January. I love "little Johny Jewel" my wife hates it so I listen to it even louder 🎸

As a child, I was fascinated by the radio scale on our Philips radio. Many moons later, when working internationally, including in countries without TV -or, sometimes without electricity, I'd listen to my then super sophisticated Sony shortwave radio: ICF-SW77 (LW/MW/SW/FM PLL Synthesized Stereo Receiver) / Gallery / Sony Design / Sony Thirty years on, it still works, and I still listen to it: "this is the BBC World Service".
