although me not that big of a fan on Eagles, this 'Hotel California' sold millions...half a Century later,

Ms. Mo Yun 墨韵 cosplay as a 'Dragon Gate Inn Assassins' from Ming Dyna 龍門客棧 ( great movie directed by King Hu) playing Gu-zheng on

Eagles' 'Hotel California'...very interesting...very good song quality and 4K video

This one rings out to me.

Yes, I'm weird.

Harrisburg PA :)

Not weird at all! Beautiful song & harmonic structure - written by Jack Bruce (lyrics Pete Brown) and gorgeous vocals by Felix Pappalardi.

Jack's intimate solo piano performance is very sweet as well. Listening now... ...Both singers had beautiful vibratos.

I'm not going to link to a youtube video. I'm just going to tell you what I'm listening to at the moment; per the thread title.
In my humble opinion, throwing up a youtube link is lazy; it's non-conversational. This is a forum, let's talk about what we're listening to at the moment.

I'm listening to "Rio" by Paul Winter and (the-one-and-only) Luiz Bonfa; plus some other outstanding Brazilian artists.

Track Listings
1 Reza
2 Vagamente
3 Tristeza de Nos Dois
4 Daniele
5 Alem Da Imaginacao
6 Rio
7 Aviao (Song of the Jet)
8 Adriana
9 Inutil Paisagem
10 Zomba
11 Saudade
12 Ela E Carioca

Imagine you've been watching a black & white TV all you life, then you get your first color TV, the world has changed forever. That's what it's like to listen to Bossa Nova for the first time.

I have the album on CD, such a joy to listen to it while enjoying a glass of wine.

All the best,
Mike

Uhm, it allows people to directly listen to what you are listening to if they are interested. What's wrong with that? Seems logical...being the internet and all.

Yes, John, of course we can skip the pleasantries and just swap youtube links. Perhaps that’s what everyone here wants to do. Maybe I’m an old fuddy-duddy for wanting to discuss the music that interests us. Personally, I’m fascinated by what motivates (or interests) people to listen to what they choose to listen to. I’m a sucker for sappy love stories about the song that a guy and his wife danced to at their wedding or their grandpa's favorite bluegrass song. My father’s favorite song was “The Tennessee Waltz” and he would sing it (completely out of tune) at the drop of a hat to a total stranger if asked to do so.

I guess the word “lazy” was a poor choice. I probably should have said something like “please tell me why you picked that song to share with everyone?”

Whatever. I guess the bottom line is that my communication skills still suck.

To the RFF members that just want to post a youtube link and be done with the whole chit-chat thing, please do so. For those that have the time and patients to discuss why you’re listening to what you’re listening to, I sincerely appreciate the effort on your part.

All the best,
Mike

American Composer:

Wayne Barlow (1912-1996): The Winter's Past

Beautiful, gentle, reflective, and melancholic piece. Reminds me a bit of Aaron Copeland, and evokes imagery of of pre-WWII America, and the incidental music composed for The Walton's TV series by Jerry Goldsmith, Arthur Morton, and Alexander Courage - (but predominantly by Courage I believe).

Binging on Fito Paez.. I have a few of his CDs loaded and playing in random order today, after watching the Netflix series about him.

It brings me back to the 80s and 90s, and how optimist we were for the future.. despite it all
