What are you listening to at the moment?

Molly Tuttle demonstrating basic (bluegrass guitar) crosspicking on YouTube. She had a different take on syncopation from what I have been doing on the mandolin.

As a child, I was fascinated by the radio scale on our Philips radio. Many moons later, when working internationally, including in countries without TV -or, sometimes without electricity, I'd listen to my then super sophisticated Sony shortwave radio: ICF-SW77 (LW/MW/SW/FM PLL Synthesized Stereo Receiver) / Gallery / Sony Design / Sony Thirty years on, it still works, and I still listen to it: "this is the BBC World Service". Cheers, OtL
When traveling the smaller Sony ICF-SW1 accompanied me often.
A metal Gitzo monopod served as a good extra antenna on balconies to get away from sources of interference in hotels.

My 27 year old daughter's musical tastes have matured, so I'm getting her copies of some exceptional music in my collection.

This week I got her a CD copy of Nic Jones 1980 album Penguin Eggs.

My original LP copy was destroyed when our home flooded in Superstorm Sandy.

James Brown - a force of nature.

I especially like the backup players who were, more often than not, paid a gig at a time. During my formative years, I knew one of them. A trumpet player who could play any score you'd put in front of him.
