I'm working on an Zeiss Ikoflex Favorit and have made some progress with a stuck shutter. I'm praying to the Germanic pagan gods for some good fortune here.
It's nearly pristine cosmetically and the meter seems accurate but I've been flummoxed accessing the syncro compur shutter.
It's working at all speeds now after flushing and exorcising a bizzilion times, but still hangs occasionally. I also haven't figured out how to get the B (bulb) setting. It has a complicated cross coupled shutter/aperture control mechanism and I have found absolutely NO actual manual on the NET for this particular TLR. Other Ikoflex's, but not the Favorit... and it's the only one with this dang cross coupled thingimabob.
Oh wait, never mind... I just figured out how to access Bulb. It's that mysterious switch on the bottom of the shutter. Yeah. I might just have a rather rare 1956-60 German Zeiss Tessar 75/3.5 Ikoflex Favorit TLR with a working meter before too long.
Anyway, I've got a Nikon F3HP loaded and beckoning me to try out. I just got it on Sunday and haven't used it, but I'll bet it shoots flawlessly with no maintenance or repair necessary. I'm sure of it, although it did mess me up this morning after loading film in it. The meter doesn't work unless the counter has been advanced to frame 1... tricky!
