What camera are you carrying RIGHT NOW?

Sitting at home missing work because of mild illness. Konica S III, loaded with Kodak Gold 200, is sitting at my left ...

I just read every reply. What a fun thread.

I'm currently at work trying not to nap, and beside me is a Canon T70: http://www.flickr.com/photos/tapesonthefloor/4491745500/. When I carry it around I usually toss both a 24mm f/2.8 and my beloved 50mm f/1.4 in my work bag. It's empty right now because I just dropped off a roll of 160NC for processing/scanning. The T70 might an odd duck, but she's an easy lover, so to speak. If dSLRs ever have viewfinders this big and beautiful I might consider not being totally opposed to switching occasionally for some things. Maybe.
 
All are within easy reach currently, but the nearest is what I had with me today - OM4ti loaded with Reala.
 
Carrying my usual IIIf RD & Elmar 50/3.5 with LegacyPro 400 @ 1600, but also have Pentax K-7 with kit lens in bag for testing. K-7 is very compact for its class and very film-camera-like looking, but I'm realizing I'm still a film guy. :D (and oh home much I'm spoiled with the quality of little M/LTM mount lenses!! I can't stand the kit zoom!!)

K-7 should enjoy its day out because I'll be rarely carrying it to outside unless I need it for work.

Both are small cameras in their own class.

Sug, stick a good 'ol manual focus m42 Takumar on that K-7. That will give your little lenses a run ... :)

And if I ever go digital, it will be with a Pentax K.
 
In my Motorcycle tank bag ( which goes where I go) a Rollei 35 . Its a great little camera capable of big results and is 90% of the time loaded with Ilford XP2.

I agree with you. K-7 definitely deserves some prime nice old primes. The whole design of the camera is really begging for it. Like you, I'm a film guy and Pentax K was the one DLSR I thought I could be OK with. Besides, cheapo Pentax SLR was my first camera that I bought and owned by myself when I was a kid so I have a soft spot for Pentax. :)

Sug, I hope you find your way to comfort with the K7 user interface. When I got my K100D I studied the manual intensively with the camera at hand, and managed to figure some basic settings to just leave alone, and stuck to PEF/RAW only to simplify the choices. Later, with a K20D, it's more complex; I'm spoiled by the simple M-digitial interface... At hand now is the black M8 with v.1 35 Summicron to take to the fair starting tomorrow.
 
Every day now it's the D700, plus the E-P2 (both for work).

The E-P2 is unfortunately pulling me away from using film in my free time. Hopefully it won't be permanent!

I know what you mean. I'm too used to film M: the ultimate simplicity myself. Fortunately, all the fundamental "camera" aspect of controls are tied to dedicated hardware buttons and dials and there are lots of lots of options you can set to fine tune the handling. I'm planning to set the handling parameters once, use only the basic controls and shoot RAW only so I don't have to think about the "digital" aspect of controls when I'm out shooting. :)

And I always have a film camera with me. Today, that's the IIIf RD. :)
