I finished the roll in my Nikon FG (with 50mm f/2 AI) so I put it away, and got out my Leica M4P (with 35mm Ultron.) I took one picture so far on this roll of Delta 3200 - my co-workers Marie and James on a smoke break.

Nikon F5 + 24 1.4 AF-S + TriX 400 @ 3200 ;-)
I finished a roll with the F5 yesterday night and man, this is the smoothest film camera there is, right on par with a Leica M3 - easily!
The M8.2 with Nikkor-S.C 5cm ƒ1.4 in the bag - just for safety!

Need to fill up the last couple of frames of a roll in my Leica I Model E. Got a 50mm f/3 Elmar screwed on and a SBOOI brightline finder.

If you think that's smooth you should try the F6. Love mine and I find it much smoother than the F5.
The cool thing about the F5 is the purposeful force it brings to focusing, almost violent. One heck of a tool Dirk, so fun to use! I don't think I've ever used anything as wide as a 24 on either the F5 or F6. 50 and above for me, with the big 70-200/2.8 being most common.

Shooting a Hexar RF with a 50 'Cron and TX rated at 100.

Aah Kent, yes - when I was heading out, to find the greatest AF nikon film body, to use modern glass on, I was wanting a F6 but also was haunted by the aura of the greatest, revolutionary film Panzer of them all, the F5.
The F6 went for triple the price used and the F5 simply paired much nicer with a D3 in a two camera kit at that time (also taking standard AA cells, being a big plus).
I still keep the F5, although barely shooting it recently.
Today I continue, to have the M8.2 + M9 + 35 Lux ASPH + 5cm ƒ1.4 Nikkor with me.
I will leave on a trip this weekend, will take:
M8.2
M9
35 Lux ASPH
Noctilux f1
Canon 100/2 LTM
Sekonic 308S
my remaining TriX + half a brick of Neopan400 (didn't recognize running out of TX)
I will pick up a M3 SS on my destination +
75 Lux
35 Lux pre ASPH
This will be like Xmas + birthday ^10, shooting the holiday on such beautiful new stuff ;-)

The funny thing is, that how many people described the F5 as a heavy boat anchor, but in fact it is more sleek and feels less heavy than a D3!
It is about the difference in feel between the film M and a M8/9 - the digitals are chubby.
When I am back from a trip, I'll take the F5 out more often (don't lug those SLRs around anymore, when traveling).

You're right about that, the D3 is a brute. My D300 with grip/battery pack is a load as well. I actually almost always shoot my F6 with no grip, pretty light and nimble (relatively speaking). A slightly modernized version of the F4 would be a neat camera, very cool design.
The grand champion for weight is probably my Contax N1 with grip and lens. It's a load and physically very large.

I bought a $35 Contax 167M-something or other to go with the $350 Zeiss Planar lens I'd bought. Been having fun with it. Haven't had time to develop any of the film yet..... But it's actually a swift little camera that reminds me of the F100 but w/o autofocus of course.

I keep an M3+Nikkor 8.5cm and a F5+50mm1.4d in my bag with me at all times, I must confess the F5 gets used far more than the M3. I also keep an RB67 in my trunk all the time, but I've been too lazy to use it lately.

Using the Bessa R ; only today I'm trying on the Jupiter 9. Having had the Jupiter 3 on for so long it's taking some getting used to and having the Braun viewfinder, a Universal-Sucher, on top makes the whole outfit handle much differently. That J-9 sure feels BIG!
