Aperture priority, the ASA dial to compensate exposure ,and the amber shutter speed warning lamp are enough to get by with.
Having no distracting vf information is great!

The Nikon D40 is my go-to camera when I'm at home and I see, you know, approaching meteors and such.
I usually only use film when I'm out. Although my Oly XA2, Zorki 1 and Canon Ftb are all within reach, none of them currently have film in them.
