Blank checks, Joe... Financial suicide... But heck, life is short and you can always resell the gear.

Yep... I was foolish, gave in to the beautiful springy days and, under some influence (probably Wagner's... my wife got tickets for the Ring Cycle in Chicago), I wrote one of those "Get your Dream Vacation" checks for a slightly tattered M3 DS.

My sinister plans? Recover it with a nice Cameraleather kit, use it with my MR Leica meter and my 'cron 50, and later decide if I want to keep it or not.

Frank... Karim's Leica wouldn't have needed a new cover, so I'm looking at this as an opportunity to "practice"... without wrecking something that would make me cry. In fact, I think I'd like to get the nice kid-leather cover for one of my M6TTL bodies. But then, that, like getting a collapsible lens, is in the future. But no, it wasn't that M4-2; it really looked seductive, and the price was very right, but I got one for less... and will need some TLC as well.

I'm sometimes too impulsive. Need some time away from my computer... But it's gonna be well spent!
