I've heard that. My understanding is that you have to (a) use silver oxide rather than alkaline or lithium batteries; and (b) be prepared to buy a lot of batteries. I'll certainly be taking the batteries out when not shooting for a while, but my understading is that I should get a couple of months out of a set of silver oxides. I hope I'm not unpleasantly surprised (I do have a couple of spare sets in the bag, just in case).I have the same beauty... Mine is the battery killer - I always take batteries out when I don't shoot...

Yes, I exclusively use silver oxide. It should probably be ok when you take them out. My tips - avoid using "battery check" - this one drains the battery almost immediately (at least in my camera) and also viewfinder illumination drains a lot... But hopefully you are more lucky with your camera

thanks Mike
it wasn't free but the price was reasonable. Actually I was searching for a good condition late Zuiko 85/2, but they are almost the same price, so I decided to go for the exotic option.

My Xpro body arrived from Fuji refurbs yesterday. 35mm 1.4 should be here tomorrow and also a Kipon adapter to use with my M-mounts.
Does mean something will have to go. First will be my GRD IV and if the Xpro proves itself then my RD1 may go
