What have you just BOUGHT?

I just picked up a Nikkor 200mm f4 AIS in excellent condition and at a good price. I have the 135mm f2.8 AIS already (which looks remarkably similar) and was keen to get one of the longer lenses if and when one fell into my hands. Already I am impressed. A couple of shots indicate that the bokeh is much better than I thought it would be and it has a good reputation for sharpness and contrast though I have not really tested for this yet. I have the old Q version of the 200mm f4 and my impression is that as expected the modern one is better. While I certainly do not "need" this lens - I have for example the 180mm f2.8, that lens is far bigger and a bit of a chore to lug about. Nevertheless it is fun to test new lenses whenever the opportunity arises.

These are not my lenses but the images suffices for comparison purposes:

Drying rack

Drying rack

I just has a 10 screen drying rack made for me. 10 screens, each large enough to accommodate 2 20x24 prints, side by side. Strong enough to support a 500TX press.

No picture yet, but I picked up a nicer Kodak Pocket Instamatic 60 rangefinder this evening after work for a few bucks. I had one already, but this new one has no wear at all on it. It even had a K-type battery in it.

Funny that the last two cameras I've bought have been Kodaks....

Fuji X Pro2

Fuji X Pro2

After coming over from Sony ---the NEX 7 is a capable camera but the UI/menus drove me bat$hit crazy :bang:---I moved to the Fuji X system

Liked the Pro 2 so much I just bought another one...two identical bodies, menus set up the same way on each.
The simplicity is delightful and my beloved Fuji 35mm 1.4 is always mounted and available.
Now the only bats are in my belfry.

I couldn't resist, after reading the KEH story about this camera. It seems Honeywell was going to get into the camera business a bit more, but decided to pull the plug after getting just 10 of these Zeiss-Ikon S312's, and looking to market them as their own. I'm not sure if they were thinking of buying any remaining stock of this camera or if they intended to have Zeiss-Ikon continue to manufacture these for them, but supposedly only 10 exist.
This probably was about the time Zeiss-Ikon decided to end it all.

So I have one. Identical to the S312 except for two small features. Has a protective glass over the lens and an orange cover over the counter illuminator. Came in a Zeiss-Ikon presentation box, with the S310 designation covered inside. Yes, S310, not S312.

I hope I don't see a thousand of these on the market in time to come.

Semi-boring...A 940 Nm IR light for the darkroom so I can use the toy IR googles(which actually work very well) and a new center spindle from B&H for my 2 roll Paterson tank-can't find the center spindle anywhere.

I recently purchased a Voigtlander Focusing Brillant S on eBay and it is absolutely craptacular. The film counter and frame advance stop are inoperable, so I have to rely on the very thick, and hard to see through red window. The mirror is bright but in rough shape. It's not the easiest camera to focus.
I would have returned it... But, I bought it for the lens. And it's a winner. It is the model with the f/3.5 Heliar, and its a real beauty. It's not a super sharp modern look, but there is something about how the lens renders the relationship between the darks and lights that really makes the subject matter pop.
It was a bargain even though it's just a glorified box camera.

a '34 black paint iii, a very clean black 28 3.5f color skopar, & black voigtlander mini finder. I'd always been drawn to the iiig, but the diminutive iii, feels perfect in the hand. Although i got good photos with it & loved the Tessar, the rollei 35 always felt incredibly awkward. The iii will be my 'pocket' camera...since i shoot more medium & large format...but what a mechanical beauty.

Billington Hadley Small from here in the classifieds. It arrived today and looks perfect for an M with 35/50/90 lenses. And if push came to shove it can also hold a Fuji X70 or 21mm.

Brofeta cases for a Super Speedex and Vito III. I realized that both were underutilized partially because I'd been shooting places with no-bag policies and neither camera has strap lugs for easy carrying.

I had a bit of money left over from gear sold last year and decided it made sense to spend it enabling more frequent use of current gear.
