It's been a while since I bought much in way of camera gear, I've mostly been selling off the excess. BUT ...

Despite that there are more freekin' camera bags in my closet than I can easily even count, I spent a hellish boatload of money on a Wotancraft Mini Rider and Easy Rider sling bags.

You see, most of my days now that I've retired are spent riding either my bicycle or my motorcycle. And the best kind of bag that will carry whatever kind of camera I might want to shoot with is some kind of sling bag that actually stays put while I ride. The best previous sling bags I've found that do this okay are the Peak Design 5L and 10L, the 5L in particular is a wonderful compact bag for my smaller carry needs. But the darn things just won't stay put on my back.

The Wotancraft bags are both larger than the 5L and 10L in terms of carrying capacity while not being physically much bigger, and their unique (and configurable!) strap arrangement means they don't move around at all. They are both equipped with compression straps so they can each go from pretty compact to much bigger capacity.

The Mini Rider is big enough to carry all the day to day incidentals, plus a Leica M and two-three lenses (or a Polaroid SX-70 and a few packs of film, or the Light and even a tabletop tripod and ball head). The Easy Rider is big enough to carry either of my Hasselblad 500CM or SWC cameras, any of the other WITH my Sirui light tripod in the bag as well, and sufficient accessories to make them useful along with the other incidentals. If I'm not carrying cameras, I can use the Easy Rider to pack enough clothes and gear for a weekend away on the motorcycle, no problem at all. The straps on both bags are configurable such that I can easily make them comfortable and fit perfectly when dressed in bicycle gear with just a t shirt, or when wearing full motorcycle riding gear with a touring suit on.

Wotancraft gear is expensive but superb. It's a "buy it and use it forever" proposition in materials and build quality. The details of their designs are exceptionally good, and their service has been nothing short of extraordinary.

Given all the other bags in the closet that don't work for my current needs and gear, it's quite a delight to find two that actually do.

USPS informs me the pancake Fuji 27mm f2.8 I bought from a Fred Miranda participant has arrived at my home in Texas Hill Country.
Presently I'm in Taos, New Mexico

Will introduce this lens to his new partner, the little Fuji X E2, sometime next week.

Suspect they shall never part.

Coerced it back to life and it's got a roll of Double-X in it at the moment.

Also waiting on a Bell&Howel 6in f/4.5 Eymax lens for an Eyemo 71-Z

I have an X-M1 with 27mm in my bag at all times. It takes up almost no room and makes great photos.

I put it next to an Olympus Trip 35, it's almost exactly the same size and the lens has the same aprx. 40mm coverage.

No viewfinder on the X-M1, but I get by. I'm sure it's great on an XE2.
