Sold off a 50mm Summilux v2, M5, and CL with 40mm and with the funds will pick up the SL2 this afternoon. I bought an M adapter for it and will see how much better a Noctilux will focus with it. Deciding factor over a used M10? I would like to use my M lenses without the entire lower right corner blocked off.

A piece of Genuine Cuban Mahogany. It will become two replica 35mm Cameras built c. 1916 by Jens Poal Andersen in Denmark. Cuban Mahogany was “his” wood of choice, as well as the premier naval and furniture wood . It has exceedingly fine dense grain, and ages to a Beautiful amber color. Today.... “True” Mahogany, is very rare indeed. No exports from Cuba, some very old reclaimed wood, Cuban Mahogany that was grown in the Florida Keys, and trees from Hawaii. This board is a Hawaiian Cuban Mahogany. Often this wood has extensive and beautiful figurative grain, prized by instrument makers. Wanting basic straight grain, this board is ideal. Look forward to it becoming Cameras!

A 1987(?) "Valdai"made Helios 44-2. Only paid £10. The aperture ring is a little stiffer than I'd like (though apparently it's a design "feature") and it either has had or it does have a little bit of fungus on the front element near the bottom left. I've used Hydrogen Peroxide 6% (food grade) that was bottled in August of this year on it 3 times, but as I don't know how long to leave it I'm not sure if I've left it on long enough. The first was for "some" seconds, the 2nd was for 30 seconds and the 3rd was for about 2 1/2 minutes.

I also bought a 49mm Hoya hmc sky 1b filter, snap on lens cap and a metal hood for it.

I put it on my Zenit B, which I got from a charity shop shortly before lockdown, along with a 135mm Hanimex lens which has a slow-closing iris which of course is irrelevant for this camera-I focus with the lens on "A" then switch to "M" to shoot.

Edit: When I first tried the 44-2 in the shop, I had trouble getting the aperture ring to move off f2 but then it seemed to "come good" and I presumed it was because I'd never used one before and was doing something wrong, but now that I've tried the aperture ring with the filter and hood on it seems to get stuck on f2 more, even to the extent of almost unscrewing the lens from the body! If I was going to keep the camera I'd seriously think about dumping the 44-2 and getting a 44m.

You'll have to find a Foca to add a French RF to the collection, or perhaps an Akarelle but I've only mentioned that as I'd like to see one...

That Koniflex I bought a few weeks back was "delivered" by DHL. They didn't knock, didn't call or text (even though they had my number.) They didn't update delivery status until over 5 hours after they dropped it off next to a trashcan on my street, right next to my stoop. Tracking said "SIDE STEPS" signed for the package. Well, the package was stolen in broad daylight and I filed a claim which was substantiated after an investigation then finally got a refund.

I'm so sick of living here.

Anyway, tomorrow I have a circa 1917 Corona 3 on the way. Fortunately, the FedEx guy always knocks really hard, but he doesn't like to handle packages with any care whatsoever, so hopefully the chassis isn't bent or more broken than I'm already expecting.
