A Sankyo Kohki Super-W-Komura 90mm f6.3 lens. Very little info on this lens is available but it apparently has around a 240mm image circle. I will need about 232mm of that. It is massive and makes a Schneider 90mm f8 Super-Angulon look tiny. Conflicting info on it being a Biogon clone and/or retrofocus depending upon what info is found. Flange focal distance is around 132mm.

Shawn, I think with this beast, it might just drop down to 50 feet...

Just pulled the trigger on a TTArtisans 35/1.4, new, that should arrive from B&H on Tuesday. I've some misgivings, but reviews have been consistently good. I sold my Voigtlandeer 35/1.4 (horrible rendering, mediocre sharpness), but wanted a fast 35. My experience with the TTArtisans 50/1.1 was mixed; it was sharp enough, but wouldn't work on my M5, and vignetted with even the slimmest filters. I'm hoping the engineering on the 35 reflects a few years' worth of refinement. Anybody else have input on this lens for film use? Fingers crossed!

Bad day at the camera fair….

I was hoping that the OZXVO would have sated my GAS for at least a few months, and at relatively modest cost. Them I came across this 35mm f2.8 LTM Canon, and had to have it. And who of those amongst us would not have succumbed?

Any bad experiences with Nokton 34 f/1.4? Was thinking about getting one. I do only film on Leica. Not expecting Summicron/Summilux performance but is there anything bad about it?

Not exactly "bad". Soft wide open, sharpens up OK by f/2.8. Just never really sharp, and I confess to being spoiled by my ZM Biogon 35/2.8. Contrast seemed a bit low as well. A perfectly good lens, by any standards, but I bought it to use at large apertures, and from f/1.4 through 2.8, just not quite good enough for my taste. Depending on the films you shoot, and your tastes in subjects, the lens might be just fine. This Voigtlander is described as having a "retro" look, and I suppose it does, but it just seemed bland to me. It is inexpensive, the next M-mount 35/1.4 lens above the TTArtisans in price, and it's also very compact, with no finder intrusion at all, so it does have some pluses! This is all very subjective, and I'd hesitate to make a strong recommendation. Some folks love the Voigtlander! YMMV.

Thanks for the feedback. I think I will like this lens fine. And yeah things like dislike/like are subjective

Regards.
