Yeah, KEH and that 10% on Black Friday pushed me over the edge.... twice.

I grabbed the Bronica EC they have had for awhile, waiting on a film back for it. I have the EC TTL prism but not sure how accurate it is yet. It seems off by a stop or two.

KEH also sold 4 or 5 CL's during that sale. I saw this one was get listed in Excellent condition (with no issues listed) but at about 60% of what the others had gone for, that plus the 10% off I decided to jump.

The meter was a little jumpy at first but after using it a bit it settled down. Think it was just dirty contacts on the shutter speed dial. The RF was off but I was able to adjust that, though eye position changes the RF quite a bit on this one both horizontally and vertically. Not sure if that is typical for the CL?

Will likely take the top off and see if I can clean the electronic contacts a little more. Also wondering if I can mask out the left and bottom of the 40mm framelines. The Skopar is going to be the main lens for this as the combo is so nice and small.

The battery is a non -issue, really. Mine has been rebuilt and will last for years; rebuilds are simple for anyone with minor electronics skills (certainly not me). At this point I have both systems, and they complement each other. Additionally, the lenses are the identical Zeiss formulas, and indistinguishable in use.
The Rollei is like a 500 EL with full-time TTL auto-exposure, even with a waist level finder. I reach for it in fast-changing social documentary situations where pausing to take a meter reading and set exposure would probably lose the moment. The Hassy is for more static subjects. And of course, this division isn't hard and fast.
Yes, the Hassy has that old-school mechanical elegance and beats the Rollei hand-down for looks. And yes, the Rollei is electronic, and is doomed to ultimate failure, so I guess the Hassy "wins". But they're both wonderful tools, and I like having the choice!
And let's not get started on the all-mechanical SL66. Now, there's some serious GAS material!

So there is this Nikon zoom lens that is legendary for how bad it is supposed to be. The Zoom-Nikkor 43-86/3.5:

A little beer, a little rum and a $20 BIN price tag… well, I’ll get a chance to find out if it’s really as bad as the stories say 😉 Looks like it’ll need some cleaning, but, heck, for that price? I’ve spent more for bad restaurant meals…

I think it's actually the somewhat later version that isn't supposed to be quite as bad so there is that too... 😎 It'll be fun no matter what.
 
I haven’t bought anything photo related in years. Been busy getting my old gear back together. I have much older film both b&w & color I want to shoot. I’ve been looking for a box of C-41 home development kit I misplaced. Ready to give up on it I did pray and asked the Lord to lead me to it and tonight looking through a stack of old boxes I happily found it. Now I guess I’m going to have to ask Him to help me find the power cord to my laptop so I can hook up my Epson scanner. But 1st I got some film to shoot & see what b&w developer I have is still good 😊
 
35mm Summicron (seventies' 6 element version). A very expensive cure to the problem of detaching an LTM lens on an M Leica, where the lens unscrews itself leaving behind an inaccessible adapter.

The IROOA hood I already had (it came with a DR 'cron). The hood which came, unwontedly (it wasn't advertised) with this purchase seems to have been whacked by a hammer- please God not while it was attached to this lens.

I bought one of the older versions to check out the reputation. It really is that bad. Hope yours is better...a lot better.
 
A number of things have entered the photographic household over the last few weeks, all of them seemingly for my Hasselblad cameras.

Two Russian lenses -- the 30mm f/3.5 Zodiac-8 and the 45mm f/3.5 Mir-26b, both of which were easily modified to work with the 1000f/1600f.

A 120mm f/4.5 Rodenstock Imagon with three discs and wooden case. I took a bit of a chance on this one in the hopes that it can be adapted to fit the 1000f/1600f. From the looks of the online photos it either has an M40 or M65 thread.

I had a 1000f to XCD lens adapter made, works great.

I took advantage of KEH's Black Friday discount and got a black 120mm f/5.6 S-Planar T* in 'ugly' condition for a great price. As with many KEH 'ugly' purchases, this lens turned out to be great and well-worth the risk.

Think that's about it -- we're making some major changes in our lives next year, so this will hopefully be the end of it for a while. Fingers crossed!

Wow, looks like we both sprung for the 120/5.6 Planar from KEH, you for the Hassie, me for the Rollei. That 10% discount was just too much temptation for many of us, apparently!
Unfortunately, I doubt that there's ever an end to it... 😉

'Ugly' and 'As-Is' are always a crap-shoot with KEH, but more often than not it's worked out fine.

The Imagon is quite an interesting lens (I've never owned one before), and the fellow who did that 1000f/XCD lens adapter for me said that he can make a lens adapter for it. So I'll likely ship it out to him for proper fitment.
