What have you just BOUGHT?

This is beauty!
Is the DOF scale indicator working smoothly? Mine was pretty stiff on a Exakta version. It was quite a challenge to cla the mechanism but it is well worth it.

Enjoy your new lens!

Yes, everything is super smooth, I love the two needles moving to show the DOF when you rotate the aperture ring, very original!

Dear Board,

I had read good things about the Chinon Bellami including a review by Mike Eckman who sung its praises, so I figured I wanted one. This outfit became available on eBay and was advertised as fully working so I figured, why not.

It arrived today and with fresh batteries in it all indications are that it is in fine working condition. I have Arista Ultra 200 loaded in it for its test drive. I can't get over how small it is. It's literally half the size of my wallet!

I finally bought the Artisan and Artist ACAM-3000 and it is excellent. Replaced nylon shoulder strap with a small Porta-Brace suede one. Holds a Sony A7CR with 24, 40, 85 lenses. I also have a similar Black Label brand bag that is slightly larger with a black interior and less padding (it's equivalent quality) that I switching to carrying large format holders, loupe and spot meter for 4x5.

Thanks for the tip. I read on another site it can also fall off the camera. Does it come loose easily?
I never once had that problem. But, probably wouldn't hurt to give it a slight clockwise turn whenever you use it, just to make sure it's snug. Without the tape holding the two halves in place with respect to each other, trying to tighten it could lead to the diopter adjustment changing. But my gaffer tape has a nice cloth feel and it lets me turn it easily as one piece, instead of acting as two separate halves, without fear of the diopter changing.

The main problem I have is the rear facing glass getting smudged with fingerprints or oil or whatever. With the additional glass/air surfaces it can lower contrast of the viewed image if the glass isn't spotless. Not a big issue but I usually keep a few Qtips and some Isopropyl alcohol handy.
