What have you just BOUGHT?

Last month I bought a Kiev 4 (LN- condx) with Jupiter 8, original Contax Rangefinder 135/4 Sonnar dated about 1940 (superb lens) 50mm Canon viewfinder, and a Helios 53/1.8 lens.The camera hod only the lightest use marks. Rfdr and shutter are right on. Body built in 1974. Next I want the Jupiter 35mm Biogon copy.

Decided on 43mm as my standard filter/hood size for my 40/40.5/43. Picked up a a few step up rings, a hood, caps and a yellow filter.

Also gave in to the inevitable and picked up a Canon 50mm 1.4. Still evaluating it against my J3 to see which I prefer. The Canons build quality is better but I love the tiny size of the J3 and the images are pretty damn good.
 
I have just impulsively bought a Konica Hexar AF (decided to give 35mm one more chance) and also Minolta Autocord (did not arrive yet and my wife does not even know about it ... ). The Hexar has 1 month return warranty, so it will go back if ti does not work for me.
 
Pentax K100D in order to play with a digital Pentax DSLR, and a Pentax FA 28-80 to test the AF. ;)

BTW, I am amazed by the performance of that "old" sensor!
 
Leica III with 5cm f2 Summar. Seems to be in perfect order, will find out when this roll is done.

I just bought my very first tripod :D

Don't get me wrong, I do in fact own a tripod currently, but it's an old Japanese 'Stitz' tripod that's been in the family for as long as I can remember. Thing is definitely older then I am.

Since this is my first tripod, I decided not to cheap out. Not that it was much of an option, since I needed something quite specific: a tripod that's light and small enough to carry strapped to a Maxpedition pack. I always carry one of several smaller cameras with me, occasionally even a weighty Bronica. I didn't want the tripod to be a limiting factor to the camera that I could carry.

I settled on a Manfrotto 190CXPRO4. This is a full carbon fiber model with four sections. I found a great deal on one that included a cheapo ballhead. I upgraded it to a 496RC2 ballhead and ordered an extra plate to go with it. A combo that gets great reviews. It also has a 90 degree rotating column, great for macro work or when you need to 'hang' over a table.

The whole setup weighs about 1.7 kilos with the head on it and has a 5 kilo carrying capacity. Length with head when collapsed: just shy of 60 centimeters. It's not a very tall tripod as the max size with the column extended is about 150 centimeters. Add in the head and the camera sizes with grips and it'll reach my eyelevel just fine if I need it. I would've preferred a few extra centimeters (Don't we all gents?) but life's a compromise. I've never felt I needed a taller-then-me tripod, so I doubt i'll really miss it.

Should recieve the orders tomorrow!
 
Just bought a Hasselblad thin strap.

And a Linhof newer version universal 4x5 viewfinder, that needed a complete overhaul. I found the item remarkably unfriendly for maintenance, which was a complete surprise for a German-designed item. I had to modify a part to complete the overhaul. Now it work perfectly.
