What have you just BOUGHT?

Thanks for these links! I was looking at the 1963 catalog, and wondering whether anyone can identify the otherwise unidentified cameras at the top of the pages.
Very cool! I had never heard of Radio Shack before they bought Allied Radio in 1970, hadn't known that they had sold cameras. I had a Micronta 35 but had just figured the name was a coincidence.

The cameras at the top of Page 138 look like Tarons, not sure the model names off hand; the half frame (item (G) at left) is a Taron Chic.

In the production of holiday greeting cards, I consumed a 20-sheet box of Epson Velvet Fine Art 8.5x11 inch paper and two ink cartridges for the Epson P600 printer. It's pretty shocking to see the prices on these three things now reach US$140.00...

I remember when it was less than half that, and it doesn't seem all that long ago.

I was finally able to buy a pancake lens for my Pentax MX. There are quite a few options I just did not want to pay the over inflated prices these go for nowadays.
I ended up with the Pentax M 40mm f2.8.
WOW the focus ring is just a little sliver and narrow than the aperture ring!
Super tiny but a great match for the MX/ME!

I’ve been looking for one as well but have a hard time justifying the price when I compare them to the fa43 ltd.

I'm trying to figure out how to mount a Nikon right-angle viewfinder onto the viewfinder of a Hasselblad superwide camera.
I think something 3D printed would work, perhaps something that has threads on one end to accept the adapter, and some sort of mechanism on the other side that clamps onto the SWC finder to align the two optics. Or does the SWC finder have threads for diopters?

I'm very amused by the little leatherette patches over the Halina's badging!

Bit of a shame they were so shoddily made put together, because they are quite handsome.

Yes, it is the 'form' of this little camera that promises greatness, it can almost justify a place on a shelf full of Leicas.

I await observations regarding the quality of the lens with interest.

I think I put those there because the badges had fallen off and left open holes.

What this most resembles is the Yamato PaX series of cameras, which were the same size and shape but better made and with rangefinders and lever wind. The camera In the kit at the top of the page In the 1962 catalog is a Yamato, the same as the PaX but without the rangefinder and with a larger viewfinder.

Ah, I thought it was factory! I repainted the red badge, and was going to print and varnish a pic of the other, as much to push my abilities as for the camera's sake.

Still a neat fix.

Yep, I think of something 3D-printed.
No, at least my old SWC does not habve a thread for diopter lenses. That would be to simple ;-)
I think of something similar like the finder masks for 4,5 x 6 format as a mounting with a thread for the angle finder.

I've already designed and printed diopter lens holders for the Nikon S2 and the SP, so I should be able to manage something like this too.
Everything takes time and the right moment. But then it all comes together naturally.

just got this very interesting Balda Super Baldina. Made between 1938 and 1940. The seller gave it to me for the cost of shipping since it needs some work. B and T do not work but after injecting a bit of lighter fluid the other times on the shutter appear to be fine, as do the shutter and aperature blades.
The rangefinder is a bit slow. After moving the lever it takes a bit for the image to adjust but once it does, it is about on the correct distance. The coupled rangefinder works with a 50/50 horizontal split imagine.
Besides B and T the shutter button is sadly broken. when i got the camera the lever the goes from the button on top of the camera to the shutter release button on the front of the camera was jammed in front of that release lever. No idea how long it has been jammed, but probably long enough to cause one of the two bolts that hold the shutter lever broke off. The broken off bolt including the torsion spring was still in the camera, i might be able to repair that part in the future. For now the camera will not close without force, so it stays open.
I tried disassabling the camera yesterday but one of the tiny screws on the top plate did not want to come loose (even after letting it soak with some oil).
Not really sure how to remove the door to get to the shutter lever assembly yet. Did anybody here ever deal with one of these Super Baldinas?
