Gotta say that Contax G2 is simply gorgeous.
Okay, my recent purchases have actually included a couple of rangefinders.
Bought a Nikon PB-4 bellows with PS-4 slide copy attachment, and the owner, who was clearing out his stuff in preparation for leaving the country, decided to toss in a Nikon F2S with MD-2/MB-1 and DS-1 with charger at no extra charge. 😱 Pick me up off the floor!
Bought a fellow's Olympus outfit: OM-1, OM-1n, 50/1.8, 135/3.5, 24/2.8 Vivitar in OM mount, Vivitar 283 flash and a black Olympus Trip 35. I'm gonna keep the Vivitar 283 flash and the Trip 35 and sell everything else.
Got on a black Canon FTb kick lately. Bought two off eBay, one FTb, and one FTbn. The FTb is in decent condition and came with a chrome-nose 50/1.4. The "n" has been dunked in water at some time in the past, came with a 50/1.8 and is in generally marginal to poor shape. Oh well. So, I tried again, won another "n" model, and this one arrived this week. Nice shape! So now I've got a black FTb and FTbn. Woot!
About the same time I bought the first two FTbs, I bid on and won a Canon QL-17 GIII with Canolite D flash. Everything's in very nice shape. The meter works and is accurate. And so are the shutter speeds.
More recently, I bid on and won a Nikon F with the early non-TTL Photomic finder -- the one with the round window on the front and the semaphore that turns it on and off. Everything works great. Cool old camera.
And I bought a DP-1 Photomic finder for my F2, which has been meterless for 20 years. Nice to have a metered head for it at last.
Incidentally, I've tested both the Oly Trip 35 and the Canon QL17. Ran rolls of B&W through them, and they rendered excellent images. Hard to say which one I like better. They're both loaded with Ektar now, maybe that will make it a bit easier to decide.
