I have friends finding cameras for me now, calling me while I'm at work.
Based on the sound of the shutter over the telephone, I told my friend to go ahead and purchase a Yashica 124 for $85 at an estate re-seller. There was tax, and I paid my friend a finder's fee.
The camera looks like the owner ran one or two rolls of film through it, then put it back in its box and left it there for 45 years. Somewhere along the line, he took out the battery before it did too much damage - just slight corrosion on the battery contacts.
So, I got a nearly new condition 124 with case, lens cap, and original box, for $100.
The price sticker on the box says $47.50.

Arrived this morning, 16-50mm lens for my Xpro-1. Had to give it a try at the price they're going for.

Olympus Six.
Apologies to my faithful Nettar, but, if the Olympus checks out, the Zeiss will be finding a new home.
Now to find a 645 mask for it, and it'll be close to perfect (well, unless an RF Chrome Six comes my way)

Finally caved in and as of today counting the days until my new to me M8 arrives.
- So thinking about if after the fact, this means I've put down a (to me anyway) large amount of money on an outdated camera, that may or may not have issues and isn't exactly known for having the best reputation for reliability....Feel a bit like I've gone to the casino and put all my savings on red at the roulette, but hey - you only live once ;-)
..I'm sure it's just what the doctor ordered once it arrives.
Cheers,

Finally at home...
Sigma 12-24 for Pentax, the version with aperture ring (but not really for my Pentax, rather as a superwideangle for my Fuji X-E1, it will work like a 18-36 without and like a 13-26 with my LensTurbo).
Canon EOS 5, because I just sold my 5D and I wanted to shoot my EOS-lenses on film.

FED-4 with beautifully clean and only very slightly stiff panda Industar-61. It's in very nice condition, even the meter works almost well.
Also, a 1968 Zenit-E with the tiny little Industar-50. These are lovely little pancake lenses on a dSLR. The Zenit will receive a donor light meter I have lying about, be cleaned up and tuned. It's in more than nice enough condition to keep around for a while; if it packs up, at least I'll have spare curtains for something else.
And a second Meyer Orestor 135/2.8 preset. This one's a lot less pretty than my first one. Technically, it would at least need the rear element replaced. In the real world, there don't seem to be any problems.
Total sum was less than what I might've expected to cough up for the FED alone, locally...

Good news! I'm finishing early today, and the sorting office is open late.
I hope it is my new folder, and not the Nikwax for my boots.
