I have friends finding cameras for me now, calling me while I'm at work. 😱
Based on the sound of the shutter over the telephone, I told my friend to go ahead and purchase a Yashica 124 for $85 at an estate re-seller. There was tax, and I paid my friend a finder's fee.
The camera looks like the owner ran one or two rolls of film through it, then put it back in its box and left it there for 45 years. Somewhere along the line, he took out the battery before it did too much damage - just slight corrosion on the battery contacts.
So, I got a nearly new condition 124 with case, lens cap, and original box, for $100. 😀 The price sticker on the box says $47.50.
