What have you just BOUGHT?

For a good long while, I have been looking for a chrome 150mm F5.6 Schneider convertible Symmar, in good condition, in barrel mount. A fine Plasmat type, to complete my Schneider lens set for the Makiflexes. Have not had much luck. Some are overpriced IMO, a lot have the Schneideritis or look really rough, which I would prefer to avoid, if I have a choice. And, there are just not that many out there, at the moment.

Along came this really pretty Schneider 150mm F5.6 MC Symmar-S in barrel mount (at a good price), so I bought it. I debated a while, the idea of putting a more "modern" lens on an older "classic" camera. But I have many lenses which were not originally offered for the Makiflex, so what the heck.

I'm glad I did it! Here it is, on one of the Makiflex Automatics.

Waiting for two boxes in the mail; BP M4 (with a chrome rewind knob that I need to replace) and a new 50mm Voigtlander Nokton 50mm f/1.1.

Poser - me too....

Poser - me too....

Black paint 35 Cron ASPH in LN- condition. Love the vented hood.

Call me a poser, but it will look great on my 0.85 black paint MP that displays gentile brassing.

I struggle with the poser complex too. Don't feel bad about it - as long as neither the body nor the lens sits in a display case above the mantle and you make plenty of images with the gear, you're not a poser.

Just picked up another Micro 4/3's camera body, a Panasonic GX-1 camera
I finally broke the 12 megapixel barrier (16Megapixel). It was a great deal.

Just bought an OM-2n off ebay. Will have to see what it's like when it arrives. Typical seller "doesn't know anything about cameras so selling as-is"! I figured for 20 bucks at worst I'll have a nice display piece...

A dark blue FED-2b with 50/3.5 collapsible FED lens, and a late Zorki-4 with J-8, both in very nice condition from Fedka. I went on a bit of a splurge :)

Got these Rollei 35 about USD70, listed in toy camera section..
It came with pouch, strap & rollei UV filter.. though there's small dent on top & the meter is inop.. I'm consider that as a nice deal..

Brian,

Thanks for backing me up. I get a lot of heat because even though I buy a lot of used gear it often is in remarkable condition. I figure that I will use this gear over decades, and that I'm the one who will put the wear on my cameras. Also know that I tend to shoot rather heavily. I never am sorry for paying a premium price for good condition.

Back when I shot only B&W film, in summer months, I would average about a hundred rolls a month. I bought a Monochrom, and I still shoot film, but the now two year old MM displays heavy wear. Because I use a grip the leatherette is worn smooth in some places, and the shinny nickel plating under the black anodize glows in areas of the top plate.
