Second--what alcohol did you use? Plain drugstore stuff? Something exotic? Would love to know and thanks..

Yes. Drugstore 91% isopropyl alcohol. A quick wipe and the stickiness was gone. I also used it and the ArmorAll on the back of my N90s.

Been on a Yashica jag lately. Another FX-2 (my second one sounds like a NASCAR racer on it's last laps), and an FRII with the winder. The winder turned out to be a goner, so I bid on another one today and won it.
