This summer I walked some 1000km from southern to northern Spain on the Via de la Plata and il Camino Sanabres from Sevilla to Santiago. with me I had my M9 (the camera!) and a Rolleicord plus 40 and something of film. To make long things short: I fell in love, fell in love, fell in love with the format and the "Rollei".

I love my XKs. I needed money earlier this year and sold my Pentax 645 (and lenses) to KEH. I was secretly thrilled that they told me they didn't want anything that was Minolta--even an XK.

That's a very nice machine.
Take your time with the unique wind on mechanism.
It works great but requires touch.
The 50mm version is the better of the two lenses it came with.

with all the SL hype going on, I decided to.....

..buy 'my' D3X back which i had foolishly sold off about a year ago, glad the owner accepted my buy back offer, he did put only 400 shots on it, so better for me, it's here to stay now, and i will complement my D3S for serious work. shared batteries and cards is a good thing, I still think the X output is the best nikon output and shy of a digiback (DMR), the sensor has the certain X-factor which reminds me of CCD Sensors.

Nikon N8008s (F-801s) from KEH. I'll be searching for an SB-24 flash for it, and maybe an AF-D 50mm 1.8. For now I'll shoot MF lenses, of which I have many.

Thanks, looking forward to it arriving. I have read conflicting info as to which lens was better. It sounds like they are both very good but the 50mm shutter is easier to repair if needed.
