What have you just BOUGHT?

Just picked up a Canon T80 with the AC 35-70 at a thrift shop for a few bucks, works nice!

I think I like the feel of this one! Now to find the matching 50/1.8 and another body!

I have a Retina IIa on the way to me but happened to be in an antique store and found this little guy. (Retina 118?)

It is obviously a well used, but not damaged, camera. Shutter words (and sounds about right), aperture is fine, glass looks clean, focus works well and the film advance seems to be OK. It came with a rolled of Plus-X in it. I'm finishing the roll and then will develop it.

Nikkormat FT2. Came with 50 2.0, HS-2 hood, uv filter, soft release and eyecup. Plus there was a polarizing filter included. Hundred bucks U.S. including shipping. All it needed was a strap and a battery!

Very nice! Though I would say the big gotcha with Retinas is the bellows. My first Retina had horrible light leaks.

Gambled on a cheap Super Ikonta A. I have one in great condition with the exception of the bellows. Hopefully between the two I'll be able to assemble a working camera. At $40 shipped I'm willing to take a chance.

Pentax-L 43mm f1.9. It's been on my 'bucket list' for some time. Hopefully worth the wait!
Congratulations on that find! Very rare; only 2000 of these were made (800 silver, 1200 black). The retail price in Japan was 150,000yen, around $1385 at the time. Kit includes; 1)Lens (shade is built in) 2)Finder (for 43mm & 50mm) 3)Both caps 4)Box for finder.

I don't know this for a fact, but it's not unlikely that the Leica screw-mount barrel was supplied by Cosina for this low-production run. Glass is the same as the Pentax bayonet mount version.

Have fun, and show us some pics!

After a while of buying abstinence, I couldn't resist a Tamron 24-135 (for my Nikon) for an amazing price!
This zoom lens is surprisingly good. 🙂

Finished up the roll in the 118 but haven't processed it yet. The bellows look OK though. I also stopped back by the antique store and saw in the back of the display the original case case for it. They gave it to me as it was supposed to be included with the camera. Stitching is pulling on the bottom but it was in good shape otherwise.

Turns out Retinas are like rabbits....

They all came with their cases too. The IIa looks to be working great, focus is very smooth, lens clean, shutter sounds right, aperture is clean, bellows appear good, rangefinder and frame counter are working. Rangefinder could use a cleaning though as it is a little hazy. I am taking it out today.

The Retina 1 (010?) is almost as nice but the focus is fairly stiff. I will have to see about pulling the lens off and regreasing it.

Congrats. I have same lens, and I once compared it with the 40mm Summicron C. The Pentax lens is a wonderful lens overall. It has character. Maybe not as sharp as an aspheric lens, but who cares.

Nice Jack !!
What Fun ...😉

Thanks, Helen.
I got this 1958 Pentax K a couple months ago, but was just able to put this little kit together over the weekend. Also, I'm trying to learn how to shoot product shots of camera gear. These were shot using a Micro Nikkor 55/3.5 pre-ai. The pics were shot stopped down to f32. I'm really liking the lens.

Oh man, I picked up an M6 and still can't believe what great shape it's in. It's like new! Isn't it great when you get one of those and it totally exceeds your expectations??

This is my first film camera in decades, and it's great to be back with film. My last one was a Nikon F4 around 1999 and prior to that, a simple Minolta rangefinder that stayed around my neck since fifth grade (thanks dad, I'll always remember the day you gave it to me way back when. Rest in peace...)

Everytime I pick up my M6 or M240 now, I think of my dad...
