What have you just BOUGHT?

Craigslist: Pentax *ist 35mm film SLR and the 29-90 plus 80-320 AF lenses. the 80-320 looks awesome! no sexy f/numbers but a great range and decently compact.

The camera itself has the all too common sticking Select Dial. but hopefully after i sell off the kit zoom and body ill be even or be into the 80-320 for under $50.

Sold a Nikon 135mm DC f2.0 lens and picked up a used baby brother to the X Pro 2.

Going to use it as a every day carry. Even with the grip it fits into a Think Tank Modular Pouch or an Op/Tech wide body medium soft belt pouch. Tight in both though. Easy fit without the grip.

Nikon L35AF with the special lens cap and Nikon filter. Looks mint, no corrosion in the battery compartment and used FP4+ in it.

Now I just need to find a (paper, not PDF) manual for it but a lot of people have strange ideas about the postage on them...

Regards, David

Nikonos IV-A w/Nikkor 35mm f2.5. I could not resist. It was $21. Put a battery in and the meter was working. Body in Excellent+ condition. Not sure if I have it serviced or even if I can.

well, a year ago or so I sold my Bessa II (with Color Scopar) - I said to myself I had too many medium format cameras and I can't wet print 6x9 negatives since my enlarger can only handle 6x7... And now I was careless on ebay and ended up buying Bessa II with Heliar (and probably paid too much). But what can I say - I was probably missing the compactness of this folder and IQ was great too...

Billingham Hadley small in khaki FibreNyte. I've started keeping a few cameras at work so as to have something to take walkabout at lunchtime, and now I have a suitable bag on the way to carry 'em.

I love my 445 but it's a bit overkill for this.

Well, I didn't buy them.... When people find out you like "old cameras" its interesting how you suddenly find yourself receiving "gifts".

From different people in the last few weeks: Three Canon AE-1/AE-1 Program bodies (one black), three 50/1.8 lenses, a Canon zoom lens (80-200?), and a couple Quantaray lenses (70-210 zoom and a 28/2.8). Everything works. My experience with Quantaray lenses in the past has been: buy em for next to nothing (or free) and use them in sacrificial situations. I got some great images of trackside motocross racing using Quantaray lenses and a semi-broken Nikon EM. Both of which were deposited in the rubbish bin afterwards (they were essentially destroyed). The low-quality performance of the Quantaray lenses were not a problem for such high-motion action-packed (mud splattered) images. In fact, that was the biggest problem.....mud on the lens is hard to shoot through.

I've never been a Canon person, except for my screwmount RF cameras. Should I be happy about all this FD gear? I may donate one or two kits to the local high school photo teacher. A few years ago, he was still teaching film and welcomed loaner cameras for the students because so many kids today do not have a film camera at home anymore.

Got this Nikon Nikkor 28mm 1:2 Ai-S at Goodwill this morning...$50.00
Wow! That's a steal! Congratulations. Excellent lens IMHO.

I've just bought those things:

Voigtländer Vito CS (some time ago, though)
Nikon S7000 (as a pocketable travel cam, nice one!)
Pentax H90 (converted to full spectrum, to play around a little)
Canon GadgetBag (because I got it for an excellent price)
and
5 rolls of Rollei Retro 400S medium format, coming in a JCH box (delivery pending)

And I have - after some time of abstemiousness - some items on the short list again. 😉
