What have you just BOUGHT?

Beseler 45MCRX Enlarger...
Made an Offer rather than Buy it Now...Offered $55.00----Buy it Now price was $69.00
They accepted...I have to pick it up...it's a 50 mile drive but I'm good with that...
Looks to be in great shape, some of the cords will need replacing, not a big problem...missing the lens board, no big deal I have extras, but I didn't see a neg carrier...gonna have to find a 4x5 neg carrier...and I already have a real nice Rodenstock Rodagon 135mm 5.6 lens...

That is a wonderful piece of machinery! Enjoy!

I bought a Contax II export version from a friend for about $100 without lens. I wonder how many export Contax II were made? What are the countries they were exported to?

Color or BW pictures?

This time in colour. There is a BW film in the cam at the moment. 🙂

In a span of 6 weeks I bought myself:
a ex++ rolleiflex 2.8c
a konica uc-hexanon 35mm F2 ltm
a Leica M2
a polaroid land camera 100 to be converted to manual

I am not sure if I have GAS or logically thinking about getting gear that I know I wont be able to get later due to: "I am going to get married in little over a year and I won't be able to get toys."

Good forward thinking! 😀

Last week I bought 4 old photo mags. 2x Practical Photography, (1 from August '65, the other from sept.'65), 2x Amateur Photographer, (1 from July '69 and the other from August '70).

In the letters page of the '69 Amateur Photography, there is a letter from A.C. McEvoy, Sangamo Weston Ltd.

It's entitled 'Rumour scotched', and in it, we're told that:

"It has come to my notice that rumour has it that we are contemplating the introduction of a new exposure meter embodying a Cadmium Sulphide cell.

This is not so; although we have been working on such a development for some time, we are not at present satisfied with the stability of this type of cell when operating at very low levels of lighting..."

"...Although we are still working on this problem, there is no intention of superseding the weston master V in the foreseeable future..."

I never knew they'd been experimenting with cds cells. How many cds cell lightmeters have there been that were released around that time, or shortly thereafter and were they any good in low light?

My $55 Beseler 45MCRX...

My $55 Beseler 45MCRX...

I picked it up Saturday morning from Palm Desert (90 miles one way)
So worth the trip...met the seller, he had no idea what it was for, super nice guy...
I cleaned it up yesterday, aligned the head to the board today, cleaned the condenser glass today...
It was missing a lens-board and lens , but I have a very nice Rodenstock Rodagon 135mm 5.6 and an extra lens board that came with my 23C...
I need to buy a 4x5 negative carrier...since I plan on using this for 4x5 that's the only one I'll need...
