What have you just BOUGHT?

I have just bought power tools (by Makita and Bosch) for about €1200,-.
We are building an annexe to our house and good tools really pay off.
It' a joy to work with professional power tools, compared to the cheap ones I had before.

But then, this can turn into another obsession. Our local tool trader instantly has the "$" in his eyes when I enter the store. 😉

a 3 pack of short-dated lady gray film for £8 from boots.

I nearly bought a 1960 agfa super silette form ebay, but I waited until too near the end to place my bid. It went for £4 + £3 p+p. Bah! I'm a pillock!

A nice 1974 Gibson Byrdland guitar, sunburst finish, florentine cutout: An L7-like model with slightly shorter neck and 1 inch-thinner body, easier to play while standing. A great jazz axe.

A rebuild and paint job for a nearly completely disassembled war-time Leica IIIc.

A box full of film (Fomapan 100 and Rollei Retro 400S) from MACO Direct.

In October, I ordered a larger eye-piece for my Fuji X-T2 from the Camera Store in Calgary. The folks there are very nice, but they say there are delays getting Fuji stuff.

That's a bit of a drag because I want to drive down and also pick up a lens when that eye-piece arrives. I hope it gets there before the lens sale ends in January.

Oh my... I couldn't resist temptation and ordered a Leica M-D typ262, the one with no LCD screen. It's waiting at UPS now, I'll pick it up when I get back in town. A "selfie" Christmas gift? 🙂

From the 'bay' a black Abrahamsson soft release. The seller listed as a Tom A 'BALUG' (Bay Area Leica User Group). He still has a couple left.

I've bought quite a lot of equipment this year, moving to mirrorless models and using my Canon DSLRs less and less. One of the most recent new additions was a store demo model of the Ricoh GRII--bought in September. I slowly fell in love with it. I added the 21mm equivalent wide angle converter in early November and I've been very impressed with the optical quality. I figured I was set for a while. Then, right after buying the Ricoh converter, I happened upon a used Fuji X100S at a price I couldn't pass up. Since I already had the same camera, I didn't really need another and it was hard to justify. But that original X100S had become my most used camera so I guess a little redundancy isn't so bad.

Hopefully, as described.... .
