At total impulse purchase last Tuesday, I stopped by Burlington Camera between Toronto and Hamilton to get some colour film developed. They have a well stocked used section of camera gear that's constantly churning. Well, I had my eye on something but it sold a few days before but something else way cooler caught my eye, a black Nikon F with an eye-level prism, with a 640 serial number putting it around January 1960 for being made. The price was a steal and I know I made off like a bandit.

So Let’s See What This Leads To! It can keep my Foton company. I can see Stereo getting more popular with a film revival. It really is Mind Blowing viewmaster beautiful. The cameras are common and cheap.

Burlington Camera is a dangerous place for my wallet.

Wow, wonderful. I've been considering buying a working stereo camera, 35mm, 120 (Sputnik) or even a large format from early XX Century. The main isue here is how to make something useable of the images. Buying also a visor, obviously, but maybe you need special double frames if you use slides. So maybe is easier to get some camera-visor sistem that uses paper copies, like the said Sputnik.

My X-T2 has suffered from melting sensor surround and stains on the sensor which I can't clean off; so, since my X-Pro2 and X100F get all the love anyway, I've just sprung for a full-spectrum conversion of the X-T2 to fix this staining and to let me have some fun with what is still a bloody good camera.

I’ve used wet plate 5x7 Stereo a lot and classic stereo cards are incredible done right. With the Colorist I’m going to work with it on a tripod with 0.8 direct positive film. I’m going to set these on bound glass for tests. The exact placement I know is critical. Thanks to the short run of mega popularity of stereo during films golden age means a Lot of gear is available cheap. Ha. As I sit and write I look at my collection and wonder about a Stereo Diana Camera!

I purchased 2 semesters of private college tuition - one for my older son, and one for my younger son. Fortunately they only overlap for this one year!

And I still maintain that a crack habit would be cheaper than having children.

Reminds me (no political discussion intended) how Europe is different, there are college tuitions but far from the really expensive US! Had to google it, but in Europe it's about $12000 a year in the public system. Private can get much more expensive, but the base starts at that $12K/year.

As someone in their 20s, and seeing how unstable the contemporary lifestyle is, kids are not planned anytime soon.

Back to topic I'm eyeing a $150 auction for a mint Rolleiflex MX-EVS, 5 days remaining and not one bid... I don't want to.
Next purchase should be film and darkroom related!

Just received an adapter ring for a Minox 35 lens to covert it to Sony E mount.

I bought a dead Minox 35EL for $17 from KEH and after about 20 minutes of work had the lens and associated parts out of the Minox and converted to Sony E mount.

Really nicely done product. It even reuses the light baffle from the Minox. They have versions for M4/3 and Fuji mount too.

In the last 2 weeks I made three separate purchases:
Voigtlander Prominent I with Ultron 50/2
then,
Voigtlander Dynaron 100mm and Skoparon 35mm
then,
Minolta SRT-102

It's been a good couple of weeks.

Two Nikon AR-1 soft releases for my two Nikon F2AS bodies. I previously bought cheaper knock-off versions, but the quality and feel were not very good. The genuine versions were much better and help with the ergonomics and ability to fire the shutters with less camera shake.

A tiny Kochmann Korelle K, made c.1933. Probably I could not use it, but maybe I could manage to adapt a reusable plastic cassette as the uptake one.
