What have you just BOUGHT?

My first Leica I(A), one produced in 1930, although the Elmar f3.5 seems to be refurbished afterwards, as it's of a latter model. They put strap lugs on it, too. And this camera has not one but TWO former owner's names inscribed in it: O. Korda (or Kolda) and Bruno Maixner, an earlier owner, from Krefeld. It looks like he was an important entomologist.

Nice find - for something of that vintage, I like having an owner’s name inscribed. To have two of them is amazing!

Minolta CLE and grip. Already had the Vogitlander and the Minolta strap with battery holder came off a dead XGA.

I bought one of my dream cameras, the Plaubel Makina 67. It started with Mamiya 7 GAS until I realized that the Makina suited my style of shooting+traveling better.

The challenge was finding a copy without problems. I finally found a good working option on 'the auction site' for what seemed like a below-market price with a few accessories. It took my two weeks of assiduous searching and vetting.

I think the seller is in Taiwan posing as a Japanese seller and drop-shipping from Japan, but it's fine as long as the item is good.

Nothing photo-related, but I just bought a bronze dip pen from Tod Cutler. I'm curious to see how smoothly (or otherwise) it writes compared to my glass pens.

Today I bought 2 Fujifilm 32 GB SD cards.

I use Fujifilm SD cards in all my digital cameras (except my Sigma SD1 Merrill, it uses a Lexar CF card).

I never hear about anyone else using the Fuji SD cards. I’ve never ever had a problem with them going bad or anything.

All the best,
Mike

So Cool Vince, You did it

can't wait to see what this lens/digi side of the hassy
produces in your hands ...Congrats !

A New Old Stock Prontor 00 shutter off eBay. A good buy at $25, the seller had 65 of them (some still available). The shutter is exactly what my newly purchased Cornu Ontobloc uses! After this roll, I’ll switch it over as the slow speeds on the original are not healthy. Other than that, the Cornu is a Fun Camera all around. I think of it as a French Bulldog, Certain to leave Leicas on the shelf as I grab Corny for a walk!

a Nikon S, the "daughter" of a Contax II and a Leica III. Or put in another way, a camera with a Contax body and a Leica soul. Forget the Soviet lens, it came with the camera. Someday I will get the proper Nikkor lens it deserves.

And one of the two cameras Robert Capa had when he died in a rice pad in Vietnam.

Here compared to my Contax II and my Leica IIIf; you could clearly see the Leica-type controls (and shutter) in the Contax-type body. Best of both worlds. And then perfected into the Nikon F.
