This week I bought a front lens cap and a Tamron adaptall 2 Nikon ais mount for my recently purchased tamron ct105 lens. It seems to work better than the other two mounts I tried it with. ?

Did you buy that Adaptall 2 AIS mount that KEH had for $16? I had almost bought it. But, it had no prong (not that I currently need it), and, every other Adaptall 2 AIS mount that I've seen does have the prong. A lot of listings say "with prong" ...but, I'm not sure if the AIS non-prong normally exists.

A quite unusual camera, a No.1A Speed Kodak, made c.1911-1913.

I like the mirror on the frame finder; it looks like it would work well for near waist level viewing.
That is exactly what is missing on the Leica 0-series replicas, resulting in awkward eye level, arms length composing.

The Panasonic GX9 has revitalized my interest in shooting with Micro-FourThirds format and I've been enjoying using it with the two Olympus Body Cap Lens (15mm and 9mm Fisheye, both f/8) enough that I missed having my usual standard—a fast normal lens.

So I found an excellent condition used example of the Panasonic-Leica Summilux-DG 25mm f/1.4 ASPH available at a fair price. In prior times, that was one of my most-used lenses in both FourThirds and Micro-FourThirds versions on this format. I sold my original FT version to one friend and my mFT version to another friend who'd just gotten into mFT (both are still loving them) and figured, what the heck? It'll be great to have this lens back again for the GX9 (and E-M1 for that matter...). 🙂

I am shooting a GX9 now, too. I was going back and forth between the Pana/Leica 25 1.4 and the 15 1.7. I eventually purchased the 15 1.7. It should arrive Monday.

My last purchase after a long time was March 2020... until I saw Dez's Nikon S3 for sale for a killer price in the classifieds. Talk about a slippery slope. I just clicked the "Purchase" button on this beauty after getting a nice discounted offer from the seller (who, BTW, has a 100% positive feedback): a Nikon SP with a 50mm f1.4 lens.

In the neverending quest for a cheap Hasselblad A16 back, I bit the bullet and ordered one in EX+ condition from KEH. I should have done that from the beginning. Fingers crossed that there are no issues this time.

Also, I got a pair of hiking shoes! Obōz Sawtooth II Low. Sized up 1/2 size from my Brannock measurement. They fit perfectly and have nice arch support. I'm not an outdoorsy person, but doing the Muir Trail or another long hike always seemed fun.

The hunt for a camera backpack begins.

This week I bought a Tamron 80-210mm 103A lens as earlier this year I'd been out on a 'nature walk/shoot' and near the end I'd decided that the Tamron 70-150mm 20A wasn't quite long enough. Of course this meant paying extra for a mount and because I need a nikon ais one all the ones I can find are between £28-£45, when those for pk bayonet, olympus om, canon fd and minolta md start at about £10. Still, at least I' don't need to pay £75-£99 for a leica mount.

I am also considering a photo backpack. I don't want one which can only take cameras and lenses, so that means a split design as I'd have to carry food, water first aid kit etc. as well as I don't have my own transport. No matter how expensive the ones I look at are, they never seem to have enough space for non-photo stuff even for one full day out.

It's a pretty large platter and currently occupies the center space of our dining table. Weirdly my wife approves.

Looks like it had very little use. No marks on the pressure plate. Viewfinder is very clean and the shutter is working properly. Probably needs some old lubricants cleaned out though as the wind on and shutter release feel a little 'thick' for lack of a better term.

Traded a Pentax 645N and a couple lenses for a 1956 Rolleiflex 3.5f. My film cameras consist of a 1952 3f, 1956 Rollei, 1958 M2, and 1960 Nikon F. Guess the 50's were pretty good.

As much as I love the 907x, I'm loving the CFV II 50c back on other Hasselblad bodies almost as much. I picked up this 555 ELD a little while ago and am really enjoying it. The 'crop' sensor doesn't bother me one bit.

It's a hefty lump to carry around, to be sure, but for some weirdo reason I feel a certain comfort with a heavy camera. Feels reassuring, if that makes sense.
