What have you just BOUGHT?

- most things I read online say to pretty much 'avoid' these early focal plane shutter Hasselblads, but when have I let that ever stop me? According to Richard Nordin, author of the Hasselblad Compendium, the 1000f's are actually pretty reliable, so I'm not too worried.
Congratulations - a nice catch. Keep us informed as to its reliability, though I also feel it should be fine.

I suspect some of its reputation came from busy pros in hectic situations that accidentally put a finger into the shutter. I don’t know.

I’ve always wanted a 2000-series so I could use both F and CF lenses.

Just returned home from the store with my new lens

All the best,

In relation to another post I created about getting an M42 slr for wider lenses instead of one for my Contax ii, I just got a Praktica L2. It feels quite solid actually and the Domiplan with it focuses well, plan to get a Tessar and a Lydith down the road. The viewfinder is not bad and much better than the one on the Praktica LB I sent back. Testing a roll of Kdak Gold today and will be disappointed if it does not come out as the camera feels good.

I bought a Yashica 635 tlr. Of course, then I had to buy a lenshood, and I found a Rolleione bundled with a rollei "sport" and a rollei middle yellow filter. I then bought a rollei Green filter, but that looked like Light Green to me so I took it and the "Sport" filter to a camera shop I use and swapped the the "Sport" for a photax Green (which is proper green but has too many bits on it (I didn't notice at the time) and I swapped the "Sport" for a Rollei Light Green which is almost identical to my Hoya Yellow-Green. I also bought a no-name Orange filter and I've ordered a Rollei Green filter which looks like it's actually Green and dark enough.

I think I'll be getting a Rick Oleson focusing screen with split-image and microprism spot, the only question is exactly what pattern of lines do I want?

Nobbysparrow (https://www.ebay.de/str/nobbysparrow....m47492.l74602) delivers his excellent Leica screw mount beamsplitters again. I just fitted two cameras (a model II en a model IIIa) with it. I can recommend them to everyone. It is true that some experience is needed to place them, but I can safely say that when they are correctly fitted they are better than the original, a significant improvement indeed. Their color is different than the ones in this picture; they are yellow/blue.

Good going, Vince; that should make for a nice little workstation.
I just got my new Mac Studio up and running to replace the old 2014 iMac which went to Apple as a trade-in. This one has the M1 Max CPU chip. Lots of software upgrades needed. Actually, the Mac Studio arrived in July but I had to wait an agonizing month for the matching Studio Display to come in.

Thanks Doug - our last two laptops were 2008 and 2011 models, so I thought it was about time to upgrade them. I have a 27” iMac for home use and didn’t see the need for a laptop until, well, I saw the need. Who knows, maybe in retirement the 13” MacBook might be the way to go and dispense with the desktop altogether. However, I’m still dithering about getting an Epson V850 scanner (as I’m currently doing the camera scan method which has its limitations), so it may unfortunately be a case of one large desktop item being replaced with yet another large desktop item.

Just got the rollei bayonet 1 green filter I mentioned in my previous post. Even though it looked as dark in the photo as the Photax Green filter I already have, it is actually a bit lighter, more like halfway between a proper green and a Light Green. Having said that, it does match the Green of my two 30mm push-on Greens, but is lighter than my Hoya Greens. I suppose I'm going to have to try and find another Photax Green. Problem is, all the Green filters I've seen listed all look slightly different shades, even those made by the same company.

Just bought a 1955 Robot Royal 36 with a 50/2.0 Sonnar with case, cassette, and cap in Ex-Mint condition.

This camera has a top speed of 1/500, but has a spring loaded film transport like a Cine camera. Unlike most other Robot cameras this one is a full 24x36 instead of the more common 24x24 (50 shots in a roll of 135).

Camera is extra heavy even for a German camera, but the size is about the same as a Leica M3. Rangefinder base length is 6 Cm.

Pretty much a good camera for fast shooting and for sequences, but the bad is a somewhat awkward loading. Also a very sturdy camera.

Anxious to receive delivery. Handled one of Sam’s Robot camera at a NYC Beauty Pagent, and more recently at the August 2022 NYC Meet-Up (Christian’s).

The GAS attack was pretty bad. Lots of obsessive thinking and wondering.

Nice camera, how did the service go, is the beamsplitter a significant improvement? All OK first time out? What is the s/n?

Its very smooth, I have owned a few Barnacks and the new beamsplitter has made this camera the most useable screwthread Leica I have looked therough, crystal clear and great contrasty rangefinder patch. SN382106.
