What have you just BOUGHT?

I've been using a Mirrorless Mover 5 to carry my x100vi. The case is about the perfect size for it but I hate the zipper as it requires two hands to open and close it. I much prefer some form of one handed snap on the cover. I use the Fuji with a wrist strap so getting it in/out easily one handed was my goal.

After much searching (and a couple of used larger models) I just received the Tamrac 5693. The interior dimensions are less than 1 cu/in different from the Mirrorless mover but laid out slightly taller and a little thinner. Overall the bag is slightly taller and thicker. The front pocket is larger (fits 4 spare batteries compared to 2) and the clasp adds a little more thickness to the bag. Camera fits beautifully in the Tamrac wiith the grip, thumb grip and Hoage ultra thin lens hood/filter adapter on it with pretty much zero wasted space.

Camera also fits rotated 90 degrees to either side. On the Mirrorless Mover 5 it couldn't do that as the back of the bag is slightly taller than the front. The back of the camera needed all the height available to fit in the Mirrorless Mover 5.

Sekonic L-158 exposure meter

$6.99 plus shipping on eBay
Selenium cell version of L-188 (CdS)

When my daughter finishes grad school this year she says she will finally try film photography.
Once she cracks open the copy of Henry Horenstein's Black and White Photography I gave her
I will present her with this simple exposure meter. I think it will be an excellent teaching aid.

Though her camera has a built-in exposure meter the dial of the humble L-158
shows all aperture/shutter speed combinations for a given EV simultaneously.

I have the Same model…. It works well

This week I bought a Tamron Adaptall 2 200mm 04B lens. Looks to be in exc+/near mint condition, but the aperture ring is a bit stiff when stopping down and the click-stops are a bit hard to hear/feel, but when opening up the ring is as light and "aperture positive" as all my other Tamron lenses.

Is there any significance to this eg. should I expect the aperture ring to break or stop working in the near future?

Any help would be much appreciated.

To the mods: If this is the wrong place then please shove it where it should go.

I bought a pretty nice 5cm ƒ/3.5 Elmar last week but the adapter I had was jamming up the infinity lock. I originally thought I would remove the lock but then decided to order another adapter and go at the problem from a different angle. Got a LTM to M adapter and an M to Nikon Z adapter. Perfect now.

Since I don't take pictures of my cameras and photo gear, how about some of my first pictures with the Elmar. Here's Christie scratching her own itch. Her itches are less costly than those I get.

The Elmar? Really, it's superb. Sharp and easy on the eyes.

Is yours the older uncoated one with the older style f/stop marks or the coated one with modern f/stop. I have the former.

Just a small purchase at the moment — a Contax G to Leica L adapter. I didn't want to go with the lens conversion route because I still enjoy using my G lenses with the Contax G1, which still functions (for the time being), but being able to use the 45mm f/2 for digital photos and videos was a priority for me. I ended up going with the $30 Pixco adapter instead of the $170 Kipon adapter, but the overall functionality between the two is very similar. The adapter's built-in focusing ring is fairly tight so it's not the right option for snapping into focus quickly the way you would with the focusing tab on a Leica M lens, but it is good for getting precise, reliable focus. I've tried it out in my office today and it's easy to nail focus all the way down to 0.5 meters when using focus peaking, whereas my G1 struggles to reliable lock focus on objects closer than 1 meter. I will be getting a lot of use out of this lens and body combo.
