Leica MP 0.58 with 28 Elmarit- M ASPH. Almost as perfect as a Leica M2 with 35 Summaron, but the built in meter tips it over on convenience. 🙂

My primary work horse now is the Olympus OM-D E-M1X (micro four-thirds mirrorless digital). But the camera I'm enjoying the most is the Mamiya 7 II (6 × 7 cm medium-format film rangefinder), purchased half a year ago along with a couple of lenses, the N 65 mm L being my favourite.

That has become my go-to too. Leica M-9 and C/V 35/1.2 is a close second.

My "serious" camera is a Pentax K-1, but it is soooo much camera.

My current favorite in the Contax IIa (recently purchased from a member here) with the Opton Sonnar 50/2.0 and the Biogon 35/2.8. Really, really pleased with the quality of those lenses and love the small size and quality construction of the IIa. And while the VF is not as bright as an M2 or M3, I'm finding it quite usable with the 50, so I'm not using an auxiliary VF like I do on my bottom loaders.

Depending on the mood, on the project and other variable I like to use very different cameras!

But the thread title says "right now" : so if I had to take one in this exact moment and go out to make photos I would say Polaroid SX70!

And tomorrow it could be different 🙂

This is exactly how I feel, except for the Polaroid as no longer have one. My best camera, right now, is a Nikon Z7, that’s pretty easy, but “favorite”, right now or any time, seems impossible to me, feels like trying to answer the same question about children.
Most used last couple of days was a Nikon F2AS, with a Nikkor 180/2.8 Ai-s, every aspect of which screams quality.
Before that it was an Iskra. Which screams, I know not what. Pure bloody mindedness, perhaps.

Anyone who might be familiar with the lyrics to the Loving Spoonful’s “Did You Ever Have to Make up Your Mind?” (Apologies for ancient cultural touchstone)....that’s a precise description of how I feel about which camera to pick up at any given instant. “Say yes to one, and leave the other behind”. Truly, “It’s not often easy, it’s not often kind!”

Unprofessional, but fun. It’s mostly grabbing something at random, challenging myself with “what can I do with this today?”, instead of “what’s the best tool for the job”. Because “the job” isn’t really the photograph, it’s the fun. Nothing quite as liberating as not having to earn an income from this.

Currently: Leica M5.

But I've noticed that I tend to love whichever camera I'm using for an extended period of time. When I was using the Nikon FM3A, I was ready to sell all my other cameras. When I used my compact film ricoh GR1, I was convinced I didn't need another camera. Now I feel the same about the M5. I am trying to use it for an extended period and then rotate through my other cameras.

You hit it.

Grab and go ... could be anything from one of the Polaroids, to the Perkeo II, to my Leica CL (digital).

The Leica CL is my standard camera at present due to its versatility and lens adaptability. I can do anything ... but make a Polaroid SX-70 photograph ... with it.

It depends... I like the similar user experience of the X-Pro1 and the Hexar RF with several lenses and digital/film difference.
But just to grab it is always the X-100 nowadays.

Favourite? That's a tough call. When i'm in the darkroom printing...the Rolleiflex spans the gap. Always amazed at the perfect balance of size/lens quality/ size of negative. That 6x6 negative wins (unless going i've got a 5x7" neg). For the grab & go....i'm sure the (film) CL with 21mm voigtlander is the choice.

update... shipped from Japan friday...arrived 11a.m. tuesday in Canada! unbelievably clean: here's the grab-n-go CL w 35mm 3.5 elmar
