The ZM Zeiss Ikon for the finder and then a second camera, based on the M2 with the finder from the R4M/A for wide angles.
If we really are going nuts - why doesn't Leica retaliate against Voigtlander and Zeiss and make a M2 style camera with the Nikon rf mount? I have a dead Nikon S and I am seriously eyeballing one of my more "well used" M2's as a potential conversion. Just with the 35 finder and then stick the SP 2005 36mm f1.8 on it.

Tom. I really enjoy reading your posts ... it's life i know, but when I read about
some briliant ideas, I can only ask one question:
Why camera manufactures & camera fans are not same person?

The ultimate super sensor 25MP+ Digital Back for M6

Or they should have just made this or a Full 15MP + Digital version of the M6 and the company could have saved all the folly and embrassment of the M7 and M8 - who needs evolution in numbers?

the M6 was the LAST great Leica (and as always my own opinion)

Recently Westlich auctioned a M prototype with a RF unit that not only compensated for parallax in X and Y, but also the change in magnification that occurs when you focus from closeup to infinity.
In other words the area of coverage that the framelines indicated increased or shrank as you focused from closeup to infinity.

Framing accuracy would probably be quite accurate, with none of the problems we know today.

The prototype looked like an M4. If they added a meter it would be perfect.

I second IIIh.

Takes M lenses, 35/50/90 frames via tiny "eye" attachment, no self timer/frame selector, no battery/lightmeter, quick loading, shutter as quiet as M.

I'm OK with separate RF. I'd like a bit updated barnack, size not jacked up to M's level.

The light meter in my Nikon N90s is extremely good. Take that meter and stuff it in an M6 or M7 and it would be a great improvement. Joe

"Leica" is plural?
How many Leicas are there if they haven't made cameras?

m6

m6

m6 with matrix, center, spot metering option, and auto focus option. weather sealing.
mp type rangefinder. engraved, brass top.

Tough question only because there are so many cameras that fit the description that I'd hardly know where to begin.
And I'll say no more about this for fear of being called a troll or worse by the Leicavolk, and an agitator by the Moderators.
