which first lens?

there is one file on the card, same name as the one i just downloaded...my computer shows the full file on the card but the camera will not recognize it.
the lens shows as ver. 2...must be a newer lens?
the body shows as ver. 1

does the lens have to be off the body when uploading the file?

Nope lens does not have to off body that I am aware of..... But since lens has got later update, maybe worth trying. Otherwise I am stomped at moment.

Let's check file size

The 2.0 xp1 file size is showing as 38.3mb on my iMac. Anything less would explain the issue, like 33mb for example.

The 35 and the 60. As it happens, I don't use the 60 all that often.

I've since added the 18, which is a terrific lens, though a bit wide for some uses.

If I had to pick one lens, it would be the 35.

Forgot to mention camera SW will first check for exact file name "fpupdate.dat".

Most embedded SW developers would next check for file corruption by looking at header info in file for on camera type match, check sum and total file length. Could even be looking for a magic number field a well.

no idea what this means...

Just an FYI on how many possible things need to be checked before the camera SW will allow the upgrade to take next step.

I stared with the Fujinon 35. The 35 is excellent in every way. I really love that lens. I find I have to use a faster shutter speed than I expected to get the most out of the lens. I guess I'm just getting shaky in my old age. Also, the default Lightroom sharpening parameters don't give the best results either.
Then I added the 18. The 18 is not as good as the 35, which I'm sure you know. Though it is very good. The speed is useful in low light.

I skipped the 60 mm lens because I did not want a macro lens. Next year I will pick up the 23/1.4 and the 56/1.4.

If u already downloaded 6 times. Then odds are it is not a download issue.

I am totally stumped. Time to c if someone local to where u live can help out.

no error messages...i remembered reading awhile back that after formatting the card to take a pic on the card as well.
it didn't work.

i have upgraded other cameras without a glitch before...i have tried 3 different cards and 2 different brands...

gary, i appreciate the effort...will bring in the camera to the shop tomorrow and ask the 'experts'...

i read that the card reader needs to be plugged directly into the computer and not into a hub so i tried that...nothing!

Only other thing I can think of is to try one of the earlier fw updates like the one prior to 2.0.
