Hi everybody!
I'm planning to purchase a ZM 25mm. Which hood should I get with it? The circular 25/28 or the rectangular 21/25 one. Is there a risk of vignetting with the 25/28 when using film and is one more obstrusive in the viewfinder than the other one.
Maybe just a matter of taste which one to use ....
Thanks for your thoughts!

I have the round one, and it's fine. The vented design allows you to see through, but it's a bit from ideal. If you also plan to get a ZM 28 then it's a more economical choice; the rectangular one if you plan to get the ZM 21.

I have both hoods and tend to use the 25f28 hood on the 25. The "wide" 21/25 is oddly shaped and as I usually carry one or two cameras in my shoulder bag - it tends to "snag" on things due to the shape. The round hood is "short" and doesn't catch as much. Both are good and admittedly, they are on the lenses more as "bumpers" than flare-suppression devices. The ZM lenses are remarkably flare resistant anyway.
One advantage of the flat and wide 21 hood is that you can put it face down on a table - the 25f28 tends to "tip over". One of my rules is always - ALWAYS put the camera face down to avoid having holes burnt into the curtains (I use these lenses on primarily M2's and M6's).

Thanks for the inputs!
Finally I ordered the 21/25 hood with the 25mm.....to avoid confusion with the Planar which is almost the same size 😀. I hope the 25 will be the same league as the Planar....

Are you kidding? 😀

The 2,8/25 Biogon ZM is the sharpest lens I've ever used that I can recall - it's the star of the ZM line-up if you ask me.

STOP !!! Don't make me say want I didnt't want to say.....
I don't doubt a second of the outstanding qualities of the 25mm but the Planar is great too.....
