Better for what, shooting sports?

Instead fo a poll, why not just talk about your experiences and results?

Sorry Sepia, but this a poor way to begin.

The 8x10 is better when confronted by a bear in the woods; one can disassemble the parts of the view camera, one at a time while in flight, and toss them at the bear. Of course, you'll get eaten just the same whether it were a Leica or a Horseman. Although with the Leica you may get off a grab shot of the bear just before the first swat or bite.

And MacGyver would probably have more options available to him if he were stuck in a locked room with a pile of debris and an 8x10. The bad guys would have no chance.

The 8X10 would be better when encountering a bear in the woods, because you only have to be able to run faster than your photographic assistant, who will be carrying the 8X10. However, the Leica would be a good backup in case the bear did not fall for your ruse, whereby you could try to wedge the Leica in the bears jaws to prevent his crushing your skull when he runs past the assistant and goes for the big money.

NOW, where is that rangefinder forum I originally logged into.
